I feel pretty silly for taking people at their word instead of reading the fine print. Before buying a $1,300 Samsung Odyssey OLED G9, I **specifically asked** the sales rep if My Best Buy Total covered *damage*, because I’d be hauling the monitor from Cincinnati to San Francisco. She assured me that if it was damaged in transit, I’d be covered. After the issue appeared, I contacted Best Buy chat. That rep also assured me it was covered and scheduled my Geek Squad appointment for me. When I arrived, the Geek Squad rep initially told me it *was* covered when he opened my Total bundle. After about 10 minutes and a conversation with his manager, he came back and said he was wrong; my monitor wasn’t covered after all. That’s 3 out of 4 Best Buy reps who initially believed it was covered. The monitor made it through the move just fine. When I returned home from Christmas break, I found a large black circle on the screen. I live alone and wasn’t home when it appeared, so I don’t believe this is physical damage; I believe it’s a hardware issue. Only then did I learn that My Best Buy Total just extends the manufacturer warranty by a year. That’s it. If that had been explained at the point of sale, I would’ve declined Total and bought Samsung Care instead. At this point, it feels like less of a miscommunication and more of a fundamental problem with how Total coverage is communicated internally.

Don't mind the wallpaper. This picture was taken about a year ago, right after I graduated 10th with 92%, and my dad bought me this PC. We built it at home together. **Specs:** RTX 4060 OC 8GB Ryzen 7 7700X (8-core) 32GB XPG RAM 1TB Crucial SSD The PC cost ₹1.10 lakh during Amazon Big Billion Days. I bought the 1TB Crucial SSD for ₹5,000; the same one now costs around ₹17,000. I really wish I had gone for 2TB back then. It has been around 1.5 years, and I have not encountered a single issue so far. I have not played many games on it, so I have not really tested its full performance. I play Forza Horizon 5 casually sometimes, and there have been no issues. Monitor: Samsung 144Hz (not sure about the model). The other monitor was just lying around and is probably a 10+ year old Dell. **Peripherals:** Cosmic Byte Butterfly Keyboard (GK-37) - some keys do not work properly at times, and I have had to replace many of them. I will be buying a new one soon. Cosmic Byte Firestorm mouse so far, good

Well I think my quest to find the perfect work-and-game setup has finally ended, but not how I had originally planned. My first ultrawide was a 34” Alienware from 2018 and then 37” Acer that I brought to work for productivity. I always added a 24”-27” side monitor for extra resolution in my 1440p setups. After moving to remote, I was set on trying to find the perfect single-monitor 4k ultrawide to switch between my work laptop and PC and decided on the Samsung 57” Neo. I used it for a few months but the single desk setup still didn’t feel right. I was constantly moving my mice and keyboard (different preferences for productivity and gaming) and the input swapping often would bug out and require unplugging something to get it working again. Even a KVM would be difficult because I couldn’t find one that supported the full DP 2.1 at 240hz. Doing this several times a day had me eyeing the 45” LG 5k2k for a separate, pure gaming setup. Both of these monitors are incredible and I was fortunate to find both during recent sales. After experiencing both, here is my list of pros and cons: Samsung 57” \+ incredible for productivity and window management for software development \+ bright mini LED display with sharp text \+ 240hz and 32:9 is amazing for certain games \+ Excellent curve for both productivity and gaming \- Not OLED (but nice to not worry about the downsides) If you’re using it 60%+ of the time for productivity, get the 57” LG 5k2k \+ OLED looks as amazing as everyone says for gaming, even with the matte finish \+ I was doubtful, but the curve actually feels appropriate for the size. I did not get this impression in the store but at home it feels perfect when you’re sitting closer to the monitor \+ solid 165hz refresh rate. On paper I wanted 240hz but realized even a 5090 isn’t able to push that in most games with ultra settings and no frame gen. I cannot tell the difference in refresh rate between these two in the games I play (BF6, Diablo, RDR2, etc) \+ the extra vertical height really does make a difference for game immersion \- definitely not the right size for pure productivity, at least for me. I need more side-by-side and less vertical If you’re doing 60%+ gaming, get the LG 5k2k I wish there was a perfect setup for both but they clearly have their own strengths in different areas. I eventually plan to move one of these setups to my basement, but for now I’ll enjoy the literal side-by-side comparison of where each one shines. Happy to answer any questions to help others decide, though I clearly couldn’t make a decision myself.

Just got the Samsung Odyssey G80SD and honestly I’m still kind of shocked by how good it looks I was originally going with the G81SF, but after seeing so many people talk about the grain issue and returning it, I decided to cancel it and went with the G80SD instead. This is my first OLED monitor and the difference is crazy if compared with IPS. The camera honestly doesn’t do it justice, in person it looks way better. The contrast and colors especially are just on another level The smart TV features are actually more useful than I expected. I was even able to install Stremio, which I didn’t think would work, so now I can use it for both gaming and watching stuff without needing anything else. The speakers surprised me too. I saw people saying they’re just average, but to me they sound perfectly fine, clear and loud enough that I don’t feel like I need external speakers The build quality is really nice as well. Very clean look and putting it together took like 2 minutes, no screws or anything Since this is my first OLED, I’d appreciate any tips on how to take care of it properly and avoid any long term issues. Also if anyone else here is using the G80SD, would love to know what settings you’re using Main reason I got it was for PS5, no PC. I did try connecting my MacBook just to see how it looks, but 32" feels a bit too big for close work. For gaming though, it feels perfect Really happy with it so far

I don’t even notice it on my 1440p UW. Can’t tell the difference between it and the extremely standard office monitor (Dell E series VA) I use at work. That monitor is 1080p, to be fair, but the point is you’re not gonna struggle to read text on any OLED I’ve ever seen. I can see the difference in the HUB comparison videos where they zoom in on the fringing, but for all intents and purposes it’s a non-issue for me.

At this moment, I have a 24 inch and 27 inch monitor setup for my home office. I need 2 screens, can no longer work without them. Since I am leaving my company and have to give back the 27, I am thinking about using ultrawide monitor. I have read a lot of reviews, but I think experience is more worth than 1000 technical details. So I have some questions for you: 1. The price ranges are from like 300,- for 34 to 1800,- for a 57. It is for work, I am willing to pay the price, since I use it at least 8-9 hours per day, but do I really need to invest so much money? What is the difference from a really expensive to a mid range model, how does a 57 compare to a 49 inch one? I know the technical facts, but my eyes are no longer the best, so will there even be a difference for me? Is it possible to watch Netflix on such a monitor? Or will the image be stretched? The most important thing is that it needs to be easy on the eyes and very comfortable, since I need to look at it for so long. 2. 34 or 49 or 57? How many inches would you suggest? 3. Can I use this monitor as a splitscreen? I basically know that it is possible, but is it working flawlessly? I love to work from one screen into the other. Is it possible to have 3 monitoring areas at once? a 3rd screen would be nice to have sometimes. 4. Since I am a bit older and my eyes become tired after a while, is there a special monitor or setup that helps me with this problem? 5. Which monitor would you suggest, which model do you really love? Tons of new OLED owners complain about eye strain, myself included. People say it resolves after a few weeks. I was certain I had a SEVERE case of OLED eye strain and that my issues would not resolve. They did. But yeah glossy qd oled or nothin. I tried a few different woleds and qd OLEDs and landed on the Dell Alienware Aw3225qf.

I recently ordered AOC AGON AG346UCD because it was only 561 EUR but I'm thinking about maybe returning it and buying something else. Most say that AW3425DW is much better because it's newer panel. What do you guys think?

Since I'm disabled I've been looking for a solution to mounting a monitor over my bed and the only things I could find are the medical TV mounts which cost about $500! There's absolutely no way I would ever pay that much just for a mount! Heck that's almost OLED monitor prices right there! I definitely don't have OLED kinda money especially just for the mount itself! As you can see in the pics I have this MOUNTUP 27inch extra long monitor arm mounted to the very top of the riser and it still works pretty good. My bed frame is metal so if yours isn't IDK if I would suggest doing this. I also added a C clamp to hold this against the bed frame and added a small piece of wood so the C clamp it came with would be flush against the bottom of the bed frame since it wasn't flat. Then I added a piece of heavy duty vinyl flooring to help not mar up my bed frame. I also added a small piece of that flooring held on with gaffers tape so the C clamp I added doesn't mar up the C clamp bracket the monitor mount came with. Then I also added two huge zip ties and smaller ones holding those in place which is just a backup in case the C clamp fails. I did have to cut a hole in my bed skirt so it would still be presentable. Also I should mention I had to add a monitor riser as well in order to get it a little higher. It's the Vivo height adjustable VESA adapter stand. Overall I'm very happy with the way this worked out. I wish it was just a little higher yet and a little more sturdy but overall the sturdiness is fairly decent. I think this is going to work out just fine for years to come! Everything has been mounted like this for about 2 months already now and the only thing I've had to do so far is just tighten the C clamps a little bit a couple times now probably due to the vinyl flooring compressing over time which was another reason I wanted to use that. I figured it would compress and almost cement everything into place better than just metal on metal. One of the only bad things is my monitor cords aren't long enough to use the cable management system this arm has. The tilt ability is very good. As you can see I've got my monitor tilted pretty far ahead so it's tilted down towards me while I'm gaming. I personally think it looks great and it's an amazing value for your money! I got this mount during a sale so I got a great deal on it. I actually was looking at the picture on Amazon and looking at how far you can extend it and it said 17" high and 27.7" out from the arm and after I grabbed my tape measure I was like that's almost exactly what I need for my bed! I ordered it while it was on sale thinking well now I guess I'll have to find a monitor so I was going to wait till Black Friday to get one then I found my AOC Q27G3XMN was back in stock as a renewed one for $250 so I snagged it. Now I see it's almost that price new on sale right now on Amazon so I'm not very happy about that but oh well. This has been a great setup. It's definitely a lot cheaper option than that $500 medical mount that's for sure! My other option I was thinking about doing was a dancer pole beside my bed which would go to the ceiling and floor and getting a mount for that or getting something that goes over my bed completely like a shorter version of one of those bed canopy things then figuring out a way to mount a monitor to that but this worked out way better and probably a heck of a lot cheaper than any of the other methods I could come up with myself.

My experience with OLED vs mini led I bought 5 oleds and had issues with each one of them. Bought a mini LED (the AOC one) and couldn't tell the difference side by side except in very extreme, unrealistic scenarios. My first OLED, which actually ended up being the best out of them was the Alienware 3423dwf. It turns purple when you turn the lights on and I was having some weird discolored pixel issues that would go away with pixel cleaning but happened frequently enough that it scared me away from it. Next was lg 27gr something. This was just a straight downgrade. Text looked completely horrible. The matte coating was awful. Wasn't very bright. The other 3 were more of the same. I finally decided to try the AOC miniled and it was 99% of the visuals for way less drawbacks. I'll take barley perceptible bloom over all the nonsense that comes with OLED. Plus it's brighter and HDR actually looks good

Looking to build/buy my first Gaming PC. Budget \~ €2k for the PC, also probably going to go with the AOC Q27G3XMN Monitor. Thinking of going with the 9800X3D and 5070TI - I want an Nvidia GPU for potential Sim Racing in the future but also Comfyui Wan 2.2 AI Gen. I'm going for 1440p, I don't want to screw myself by trying to save a few quid now only to get shafted in the not so distant future if prices creep up and I'm left with less than ideal components.. but I also don't know if the 9800X3D and 5070TI set up is just plain overkill. I currently have a MacBook Pro that I use daily - but not for gaming, I constantly have 101 things open on it and the fans have a shit attack more often than is ideal. So I'm hoping for a do-it-all set up but I'm also worried about overkill which in itself is kinda stupid! I'm looking to play games like Modded Fallout, RDR2, CyberPunk, GTA, some FPS and maybe some Sim Racing in time to come. What do you think?

took this video right before, my GPU is a MSI RTX 3060, ive had it about 2 years now. the video being shown is what happened on my second monitor, and i use intel integrate graphics for that one. is it possible its a motherboard/cpu issue instead? sometimes when id hit my desk a little too hard or my phone fell out of my hand and landed on my desk my whole pc would freeze and i would have to reset it. i never knew the reason. please help i cant afford any new pc parts right now and just wanna fix it, ive tried restarting it, unplugging the gpu and plugging it back in to check for a loose connection maybe but no bueno

Will use the monitor mainly for PS5. Of course I know MSI is better, but is it really worth paying extra 5K for this one?

I bought an LG Ultragear monitor a few weeks back and have been loving it. Today I noticed a strange symbol has appeared. It flickers and is very faint, and seems to pulsate in visibility. You might have to zoom in to see the symbol, as it disappears with the pattern lines when unzoomed. ​ Am I cursed? ​​​ What is this? Edit: Turns out the curse was simply assassins creed! I turned the monitor off and on again at the power sauce and it fixed the issue. Woops! ​

My 2year old monitor suddenly stopped receiving power. So as it was under warranty i contacted viewsonic and requested for RMA 1 month ago. They did provide RMA no. Right after contacted them but since then they just refuse to provide any service. I have been calling them almost every second day for the last one month and they just cut the call telling that we will call you back and never call. Wtf is this. People spend their hard earn money on this crap just to get tossed around. I had to buy another monitor as my work got stucked. I previously had an LG monitor which had some issues after 8 years of use and even when it was not under warranty they fixed it in just 3 days and just took 500rs for the repair.

I'm seriously blown away by how good this god damn OLED monitor is, I ended up going for the Lenovo Legion Pro 34 OLED 34WD-10 WQHD as it had a built-in hub (with 2.5 GB ethernet), KVM switch, a ton of ports, and multiple switches on the back to control the monitor including a mini joystick that feels light and clicky so it doesn't feel like you're moving the whole monitor when adjusting something. I'm running it on my RTX5090 (and it's G-Sync compatible too). Comes with the Avery software to control the monitor's settings within the software without using the switches. Overall I'm pretty pleased. For anyone that is considering this, it has the LG UltraGear panel, is slightly cheaper, and the 800R curve actually feels pretty natural/nice when using it for productivity + gaming. Has some great built-in anti-burn in protections, including a refresh. One great thing about this is that the power supply is built into the monitor, so no big chunky power bricks that take up a lot of space. Would highly recommend this to anyone considering biting the bullet. Key features that won me over against the LG UltraGear GX9, the Corsair Xeneon, Alienware, and MSI equivalent monitors (all of which lacked in 1 of the below areas or another): * High refresh rate of 240hz * Decent spec'd Ethernet built-in - 1 x 2.5 GB Ethernet * Decent spec'd USB built-in hub - 1 x USB-B, 3 x USB-A, 2 x USB-C (USB 5 Gbps / USB 3.2 Gen 1) * 120w USB-C charging and passthrough (display port) that charges and outputs using 1 USB C cable * Monitor vertical adjustment range of motion is ridiculously high If anyone has any questions on this one, let me know happy to answer anything specific. So far it's been amazing. No dead pixels or anything like that. Think one thing I have really appreciated is the built-in hub, genuinely has impressed me at the very high-spec. It's made my UGreen Revodock redundant, which was quite expensive too.

Hi! This is my current dual monitor setup for MBP m1 for productivity and PC for gaming. and i think is the cheapest way to deal with it. current system: \-Bottom monitor: Gigabyte M27Q. acts as the KVM switch for the monitor and peripherals. peripherals (mouse, keyboard and focusrite for my speakers and headphones) are attached with a usb hub connected to the monitor. \-Top monitor: Old Asus ProArt  PA278QV is attached with an HDMI switcher, that's also attached to an Anker USB-C hub w/ PD for my MBP. So this setup has 2 usb-cs connected to my MBP (1 from the gigabyte, and 1 from anker) this current setup has been like 3-4 years, and the problem i have with it is that the top monitor sometimes works, and sometimes it turns on/off every second, or sometimes it just doesn't display anything. So i'm ready to pull out an upgrade to address this. What i need help on: If possible I only want 1 connection to my MBP, and when i switch to my PC, 2 monitors and the peripherals should also switch instantly. I'm open to suggestions as to what monitors i need to get and what hubs/dongles/docks i have to use. If you could also suggest a mid range pricing that'd be great! *note for monitors: as long as it has great color, cos i'm a product designer, graphic designer and sometimes deal with photo editing AND has to have a high refresh rate for my gaming needs uwu* I'm also curious what some of you guys run with a dual monitor that has a Macbook and PC as source. I need a monitor for photo/video editing, some gaming, and I found this ASUS ProArt for only 369$! How the hell is a monitor with these specs so cheap? I’ve paid double that in the past for monitors that were not nearly this good! My BS detector is screaming: this looks too good to be true! So, what’s the trade off? I mostly play online competitive games like Overwatch 2, so I don't particularly care about a great image quality. All I care about is that the image is clear, fast, and that it doesn't give me headaches with black smearing, viewing angles and stuff like that. As long as the colours aren't patently bad, I'm fine. Recently a friend of mine kinda talked me into getting a miniled panel, and suggested I buy the TCL 27G64, since he had it before and he liked it a lot. The best option on RTING for the same price range is the AOC q27g3xmn. Reading reviews on reddit, it looks like both have issues with black smearing, or hertz sync, or viewing angles. Why would I even spend 320€ on these screen, when they're still a headache? Isn't it better to just go for the cheap 150€ ones that just get their normal job done? What models would you guys suggest I buy? Tyvm

I recently got the TCL 32R84 which suffered this out of the box. I picked this up for $789CAD as part of Amazon BF deals. Love it as an all around workhorse! Been seeing lots of posts about the newer HDR monitors getting the washed out effect in W11 desktop, this is due to the desktop being in SDR and from what I understand to be W11 applying some sort of incorrect gamma when running in HDR mode, I won't go into this because I am not an expert in this regard. The typical (and suggested) remedy is to run SDR mode on desktop and only HDR with HDR content. There are also other bandaid solutions that involve icc profiles that apply a gamma adjustment. Note that out of the box the monitor is actually quite well calibrated in SDR. The [chimolog](https://chimolog.co/tcl-32r84/) review is pretty reliable in this regard. TCL did include a factory calibration report that appears to be quite in line with their specs. I cannot prove this yet. I will eventually create a true SDR profile once my colorimeter arrives for photo/content creation but until then my goal was to get a very useable HDR mode that can be used all the time for both SDR and HDR content! Well, after playing around a bit, I tuned HDR mode in W11, got it to the point where no washed color on desktop. I found the Windows HDR calibration tool to work best in combination with certain settings on the monitor itself. Create an ICC profile with it after making the manual adjustments in the monitor below. Here is a link to the one created by the tool for my [monitor](https://filebin.net/fuwrnfx6jd5emugk). Also ensure Application Color Management is disabled and that you have set the color depth to 10-bit (this should be by default - but sometimes if your cable does not support the HDMI 2.1 or DisplayPort 1.4+ bandwidth it may be called at 8-bit). Smart HDR: DisplayHDR Color temperature: 55R 51G 52B Saturation: 57R 55G 55B Brightness: 60 Local Dimming: Medium for desktop, High if you want deep blacks in dark room. fwiw, overnight battery drain is alright on windows depending on the OEM. my acer predator helios doesn't drop at all when it's in my bag, but it's because of all of the adjustments acer made and custom tooling software that they produced for it. it does suck that only specific OEMs are actually going to have that QoL and that native windows does not really.

Hi all! Currently looking at upgrading my monitor setup alongside my pc I’ve recently upgraded! (running a 5080 + Ryzen7 9800 for those curious!) With my desk size, I’m looking at running two 27” monitors, and was looking at this ACER Nitro. Does anyone have any experience with this specific monitor? Or is there another one that anyone could recommend? I’m also curious about blooming (I haven’t had MiniLED before), and MiniLED vs OLED monitors (blooming vs burn in basically). I’m also interested in using a monitor arm thing instead of the basic stands, something I also haven’t had before, and I’m unsure on general compatibility with arms, or whether they’re worth it/any potential issues with them? (looking to save as much desk space as possible is why I’m considering them!) I just want things to look pretty and monitors aren’t my speciality when it comes to PCs so any advice or recommendations are welcome, thank you!

Hello Ultrawide Master Race Peeps I’ve been using a 49" 32:9 for about a year and just switched back to a 34" 21:9. And honestly… I feel better. Am I crazy or is this more normal than people admit? Here’s what pushed me back to 21:9: \- Mental fatigue during long sessions on 32:9 \- Constant peripheral stimulation my eyes were always scanning the edges \- UI elements being too far left/right in games \- Subtle edge distortion/stretching in some titles \- Some games just not feeling “right” or properly supported \- I set to close to my monitor the I don’t see the edges at all, and if it did I feel distracted and cant game on it for too long. On paper, 32:9 should be more immersive. But for me it felt like sensory overload or over stimulation if that makes sense, The 21:9 feels more contained, more focused, and I can game longer without feeling drained. For FPS especially, it feels tighter and more natural. For sim racing, its works, I needed a monitor that does it all. So I’m curious: Is stepping back to 21:9 after using 32:9 for a year a downgrade… or just finding your personal sweet spot? Anyone else go through the same thing? Please let me know your Thoughts. ( **Update, I did the ultimate sin and switched to 16:9 4k Oled AW3225QF the visual leap in quality is so massive the only thing that will force to upgrade after that thing is a QD OLED 5k 2k 39” 21:9 but sadly samsung display did not release it yet so this will be my daily driver and I love it** )

Hey so I have been on the look out for a new 4k 32" monitor for mixed use for gaming and text-based productivity. I have had three monitors here for testing, a BenQ Mobiuz EX321UX Mini LED, an Asus PG32UCDP WOLED, and, as a baseline, the LG 32G810SA-W regular LCD. So I thought I'd share my thoughts for anyone else in a similar situation. TLDR: I expected to keep the BenQ for better productivity but ended up keeping it because of the freaking awesome HDR for gaming. So, as you can see the LG is clearly showing the drawbacks of edge lit LCD, black is grey, and also it had surprisingly bad view angles. Motion clarity was not horrible but subtly but noticeably worse than the other two in racing games. It is fine, it's not a bad monitor at all, refresh rate is high enough, and the image is decent, and it's less than half the price of the other two, so that's very fair. I heard stories about the bad text fringing on OLED, with WOLED having a better subpixel layout for text, so I went for that. I also need a USB-C connector and KVM switch so I landed at the Asus. It's a great monitor! It has the obvious OLED black levels and 240Hz with super fast refresh rate is fantastic for racing. Text clarity is superb, no problem at all, see also the close up images. It does get bright, and had I not have had the BenQ side by side for testing, I am not sure if I'd have understood the value of Mini LED HDR 1000 vs OLED HDR 400. But man, the BenQ really blasts it out of the water, it's no comparison. Yes, there's blooming, but you can switch it off easily with the remote control, and the monitor has several profiles. I ended up using HDR with local dimming on my gaming machine always switched on, and SDR without local dimming on my notebook, so the blooming is really a non-issue for me, and the brightness levels are fantastic. It's hard to describe but it really feels more realistic than any graphics update can give you. I've never seen computer generated images this realistic. Motion clarity is great, I use the AMA 2 overdrive setting and 144 Hz on it really does not feel relevantly different from >200 Hz on the Asus OLED when playing Dirt Rally 2.0. Sunlight and fire is actually bright. Even with calibration and playing with the settings I could never get the Asus to be this stunning. Yes, local contrast is better on OLED, no question, but overall with local dimming the BenQ looked almost the same in terms of screen-wide contrast. But when I tried HDR the first time on the Asus in Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, I was kind of unwowed. I didn't see that much of value of it over SDR, other than being a bit more balanced both in dark and bright settings. But the BenQ really blew me away and showed how great HDR can be, it is not replaceable by tuning contrast or anything like it. It's just brighter and looks stunning. When coming out of a forest on some fields in Dirt Rally I felt like I needed to lower the sun shades of the car, it really gave me a different level of immersion. You need to tune the settings of the BenQ to really use it to the fullest, and you can't get a perfect color accuracy, but I have found settings that work for me. So. The fantastic HDR in combination with stress-free productivity use (no burn in) makes the BenQ just the superior monitor for me personally, and I'd even go as far as arguing that if you are willing to do a little tweaking and make sure local dimming is off when you are not gaming or watching movies, the BenQ is actually the better monitor overall. At least if you value great HDR. Sidenote I already made the same decision for a TV, where I chose a mini LED over OLED, too. So. Maybe that's also just a me thing. Anyways, these are my thoughts, let me know if you have any questions. Also let me know if you want my BenQ settings.

I've considered the **Apple Pro Display XDR**, but used prices in Germany for the nano-texture version are still hard to justify for my current needs... **My Workflow:** * **60% Video Editing (Premiere Pro):** Mostly 10-bit H.265 D-Log M / D-Log from a DJI Mavic 4 Pro; [mostly landscape shots](https://www.youtube.com/@northlandscapes). * **40% Photo Editing (Lightroom Classic):** Nikon Z8 RAWs and drone DNGs. * **Delivery:** Strictly **SDR** for web (YouTube, Instagram, Portfolio). Does the Dell’s **IPS Black** panel provide a significant advantage for grading D-Log M footage compared to the ASUS? 2. For what its worth, photography capturing a CRT screen often does a poor job of giving a true impression of it. I have to agree about that Eizo though, all things being equal, it looks excellent in these pics.

The Sony master monitor (shows/movies in sdr) or the Eizo for YouTube/mindless second monitor content. But for HDR I’d use the C4. (But I can’t remember the last time I watched something in HDR except the first weekend I got the C4 just to test it)

Going good so far. Will keep updating. Before I begin just writing up this thread so I can keep track of timeline and possibility that it will be helpful for anyone in future. As I have spare monitor I can indulge in full process and tracking of RMA. Monitor - Viewsonic 2k-Pro-3 - 1440p 240hz bought on 13th Jan 2025. Case 1 - So I had purchased this monitor last year on Amazon for around 20k it had 2 bright pixels out of the box, I had requested dor replacement on next day of delivery, the guy came checked the monitor and rejected the rma as number of pixels were under the limits. Fair play and even I forgot they even existed for a year so not an issue Case 2 (current) - 1. 17th Feb 2025 Tuesday - around 10pm I got the issue from above image while watching a movie. It was sudden, no blinking no flash it just appeared. Since it was late i thought I will call support tomorrow, but I couldn't sleep due to frustration so ended up sending mail that night, no reply/response 2. 18th Feb 2025 Wednesday - in morning I called the support on official number and explain the issue. They take all my info and generate the RMA number and I was assured that someone will get in touch in next 24-48 hours. Same day I get reply for the initial email to provide more information about me and product which I did. This generated another RMA number. 3. 20th Feb 2025 - Got no update so I call as its past 48 hours on toll free number. No one picks up ivr and then goes to music hold. Tried multiple times, idk might be rush hour for them. Then I decided to write this post. So I send followup email for rma status check and in few minutes after email I get call from F1 guys (i guess these guys handle the RMA for viewsonic). He discussed the issue and understood it was panel failure by description. So I send him pictures and he will visit today evening to check the monitor. I will edit post as I get more updates. If you have any viewsonic rma experience then please let me know.

Hi, I just bought a LG Ultrafine 32" 4K IPS monitor, and I noticed that there is a sort of dead pixel on the top right of the screen, a black spot about the size of one pixel. However, I am not sure it is a dead pixel, since its position moves relative to the other pixels around. As you can see in the photos, depending on the angle of observation the black spot moves. When I look closely, it looks like the black spot is located 2-3 milimeters under the screen, if that is possible ? I tried to massage the screen, turn it off and on, but it did not succeed. I am wondering, is it worth it to return it ? I can do that during 15 days. Is it worth the hassle ? Are those defects common ? What would you do in my place ? The spot is quite faint, but easily noticed on a white background, so it is a bit frustrating to have when you buy a new screen full price.

Hi everyone, I’m having a pretty strange issue with my LG Ultrafine 4K 27-inch monitor (model LG 27UP84NP) when connected to my PS5 via HDMI. After about an hour of use, the monitor seems to crash. I can still keep playing on the PS5, but once I turn the console off, the monitor’s backlight stays on and everything becomes completely unresponsive. I can’t switch input sources using the button underneath, and the whole monitor is basically frozen. The only thing I can do at that point is unplug it from the power. After restarting it, the screen starts flickering heavily (see video). After a few hours, it goes back to normal and works fine with my PCs. However, as soon as I use it again with the PS5, the problem comes back. Has anyone experienced something like this? Any idea how to fix it? Now that we're almost three years after the article's publishing date, mind me asking how do you see the new array of 4k 27" displays? I still haven't bought one but I'm leaning towards the regular abovementioned 4k 27". After quite some research Im concluding the LG Ultrafine series is a good option for general pro graphic design. Discarded BenQ mainly for low customer support rating and panel lottery, Dell doesn't declare DCI P3 and the Asus ProArt are nice but only past beyond the 600-700€, which I can't afford atm. Any advice would be appreciated! * My main monitor is a LG 39-inch UltraGear evo GX9, 39" 5K2K OLED (39GX950B-B). * I have limited space on the left side of my main screen, around 45 cm wide & 65 cm deep, so a 27" seems like the best fit. * This vertical screen would mainly be for YouTube videos, Discord & guides / web pages. Basically a companion screen next to my main one while I'm gaming. * I'd like something that stays visually consistent with my main monitor so the difference isn't too jarring. Obviously I'm not expecting the same quality as the 39GX950B-B, but I'd like the gap to not be too obvious either. * I have a AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D 8-Core Processor (4.70 GHz), NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 & 64Go. * No strict budget, but for this kind of use, around $800 CAD feels reasonable to me. You mean lga 1700 not 1200 but yes, it is a good platform. I had to build during the covid shortages(old computer died) and ended up with lga 1700 ddr 4 instead of am4(which is what I wanted but they had none in stock). As of June of this last year, I have a 12700k, 64GB DDR4, 4.5 tb ssd storage(mostly nvme), and a rtx 5070ti. DDR4 is also sadly affected by the price hikes. The exact kit I bought of Corsair Vengeance 64GB 3200 cl 16 for $90 back in January 2025, was over $300 when I checked it back in December. It's also not available anymore. If you are willing to buy used RAM though, then going with a DDR4 platform could be the way to go. Won't help the cost of your GPU but nothing will help that. Also, pre-built isn't a bad idea yet. It will be once they go through stock they already had though.

Hello, Does anyone have any recommendations for simple, not full screen/huge window and not ugly\*\* temperature monitoring software to have on second monitor? Something that just displays GPU and CPU temps+usage in a clear at a glance way. I've done some searching and not found anything that seems to be what I'm after. I don't need an overlay, which is what all the MSI afterburner stuff seems to be. AIDA64 looks close but isnt free. Rainmeter is too much of a big change to my setup for what I feel like is a simple thing. I'd like to avoid things like Riva tuner where you need 2+ programs running all the time to make it go. For all the issues I had with it I actually found the Corsair iCue display pretty good in layout and design.[ It was just a readout of whatever you wanted with a graph. Hey, I posted my setup here a few months ago already. Back then it was about switching to a stacked setup, and I’ve been really happy with it ever since and still am. Now just a few small updates to make it even more comfortable at my desk. I upgraded my mic stand so there’s less clutter on the desk, added a small custom monitor mount from a 3D printer, and my biggest update is switching from the BenQ ScreenBar Halo to the newer BenQ ScreenBar Halo 2. The brighter backlight on the Halo 2 is way more comfortable for the eyes, and I really like that you can control backlight and front light separately. My usual settings are around 2700K for the backlight at about 6 to 10 percent and the front light at around 10 to 15 percent. I use my setup about 70 percent for work and 30 percent for gaming. The smaller monitor is mostly just for documentation or quick browsing, so there’s not much neck movement and even after more than a year I still have no issues. Just bought BenQ EW270Q monitor a week ago and already facing backlight bleed issues - a dark black shadow appearing on the screen after just a few hours of normal use. No physical damage, no mishandling, straight out of the box defect. Contacted BenQ India for a refund and they completely refused, citing policies that don't even exist on their own website. After sales service is extremely disappointing. Expected much better from a brand like BenQ. Think twice before buying directly from BenQ India's website.

I'm moving to a new place and I want to make a cool programming setup for myself. I've been using a single monitor for a while and I think it's time to get some better tech. I was thinking of getting 3 monitors in total - all of them 1440p, 2 vertical on the sides and 1 horizontal in the middle. Another option would be an ultrawide on the left and a vertical monitor on the right. How do your setups look guys? Opinion on vertical vs horizontal monitors? Optimal monitor count? Bought a BenQ EW270Q directly from BenQ India's official website. Received it on June 6. Used it for the first time on June 8 for 3-4 hours and a dark black shadow appeared on the screen out of nowhere. Zero physical damage, zero mishandling. I was looking on Amazon for monitors, and I expected a 1440p fps monitor for 300ish bucks, but no, I saw a freaking 4k old monitor, and the reviews aren't even that bad, the screen is acually very good, but there are qc issues, which is fine, like its always off level. I was looking for a 4k IPS monitor recently. The problem is that non-mini led ones are expensive for what they are. CEX has the xg27ucs for £190 if you don't mind used (they offer a return window and a good after sales warranty). Amazon has some used as well for £260-ish. The more popular Gigabyte M27U (I think it's called that?) is pretty much sold out everywhere, or is more expensive than the Asus for no good reason. Once you're even close to £300, you might as well get a mini led one. As for mini led monitors, most of them were on sale last week for £330. But now they are back to £400. The cheapest is the MPG 274UDFW E16M (must be M. Non M is not mini led) for like £380 or so. There is another model, the MAG 274UPDF E16M. I believe it is the same panel in a different, cheaper plastic chassis. It is listed for £350 at Argos. There is the KTC M27P6 and the Koorui S2741LM. Both at £400 (were £330 last week). I missed on the sale because I had not decided by then, and I thought the deal will last a bit longer. But, there are a few (used-Like new) Koorui on Amazon, sold by Amazon themselves, for £314. I asked them about it specifically and they said there is a 30 days return window, and it is covered by the statutory right in the UK, so Amazon will guarantee it for 1 year (replace, repair or refund). Mind that the MSI, KTC, KOORUI, (and there is an AOC model as well, but I couldn't find it on any website in the UK) ALL use the same panel. They're all dual mode 4k 160hz / 1080p 360hz, mini led with 1150 zone or something like that, the KTC and Koorui specifically can reach close to 2000 nits in HDR. Monitor Unboxed has a whole video comparing all monitors with this panel, check their last videos. They also have a general monitor recommendation video with other, 4k IPS monitors (non-mini led ones.) Whether or not mini led is worth it, I found the price to be similar that it is worth making the plunge, with the used one at least. A few months back I asked here for opinions on some Chinese monitors. Didn’t get any replies, but that wasn’t going to stop me. I went ahead and picked up the **KTC M27T6S**, which was going for **992 RMB (\~$140)** on PDD. I shipped it to Zambia by sea because there was no way I was paying $180 for air freight. It took like two months to arrive. It’s been about three weeks since it landed, which feels like enough time for a light review. The **KTC M27T6S** is a **2K Mini-LED IPS** panel (note: the version sold in Western markets, the M27T6, is VA). It features **1,152 local dimming zones** and is rated for **1,000 nits** peak brightness (apparently it can hit **1,200 nits** under certain conditions). It goes up to **200 Hz**, which is more than enough for my anaemic 5600XT gpu. So far, it’s been great. It’s extremely bright (almost eye-searing at times, like in GOW Ragnarok which has these random white flashes in the menu) and feels very responsive. No issues at all in fast-paced games like Apex; I’m only bottlenecked by my gpu when trying to push higher FPS. I sit directly in front of it, so viewing angles have been a non-issue. Colour-wise, it does come a bit oversaturated out of the box with it leaning slightly too red in my opinion but this cab be dialed in with a bit of tweaking. The **sRGB** and **DCI-P3** modes are surprisingly decent if you prefer sticking to presets. All in all, it’s a ridiculous value for the price: **$140 for the monitor + $45 sea shipping** (shipping was a bit higher than I had anticipated because it had to be packed in a wooden skeleton crate for protection). For what you get, it’s absolutely a steal.

**UPDATE:** **TLDR: GPU fans weren't working at all.** **I've finally found the issue ! It seems to be coming from my GPU's temperature. Someone here told me to take out the glass and directly touch the GPU when my pc crashes, because the pc was restarting some data (such as temperature) might have cool down in a minute.** **Turns out AMD Software Adrenaline did not spin the fans by itslef, I had to manually set the fan curve so that the temperature would not skyrocket.** **It's been a week now and 0 crash to be noticed. Since the release of the RTX 5080, there’s been a lots of issues - from ridiculous pricing to overheating and melting reports. I decided to wait for the 5080 Ti, hoping Nvidia would fix those problems, but I’ve come to realize it’s probably never coming. And even if it does, it’ll be overpriced as hell. So I started looking for alternatives. Right now, I see three realistic options: * **RTX 5070 Ti** \- around €950 in my country. Slightly lower performance, but much better value. * **RX 9070 XT** \- about €750, even stronger price/performance ratio. The thing is… I’ve been burned by AMD drivers before. My old 6800 XT literally died because of them, and DLSS still beats even the newest FSR in both quality and adoption. * **RTX 5080** \- averages €1340. I'm just afraid of this card. I've heard only bad things about it. And it's cost almost twice as best AMD GPU. Bought a Gigabyte M27Q-X monitor on 31st August 2025. Three months in, it developed blurry text AND black lines on the panel — classic hardware defect, nothing I did. Here's where it gets fun: Month 1-2 after raising ticket: Silence. I had to chase them AGAIN and raise a second ticket before they even acknowledged me. Their solution? "We'll pick it up for inspection." Fine. They did. Engineer confirmed the fault. Then came the bombshell: "We have no stock to replace it. Also can't import due to BIS regulations. So we'll issue a credit note instead." Okay, annoying, but fine. Except— They then told me they'd DEDUCT usage charges for the 3 months I used it before IT FAILED. Let that sink in. The monitor developed a manufacturing defect. It's under warranty. And Gigabyte India wants to charge me for the privilege of having used a faulty product before it broke. This is not "pay as you use" Netflix. This is a hardware warranty. You don't get to depreciate a device that failed because of YOUR defect. And now? 35–45 more days to process the refund through the dealer. I'm sitting without a monitor, can't buy a replacement because my money is locked with them, and there's zero urgency on their end. Gigabyte India doesn't care about customers. Their warranty policy is designed to make YOU pay for THEIR quality failures. Anyone else dealt with this? And does anyone know if this qualifies for a consumer forum complaint? GPUs is to be used for the games and productivity applications, mainly for video editing (Resolve, Premiere), but I might also hop on programs like UE5, After Effects or even Blender. I'm a learner - this would be my first full actually good PC, and I'd like to start learning these programs because I had no ability before on my crappy laptops, so unfortunately, I had no previous before with them. Pulled the trigger on on the Gigabyte MO27Q28G to replace it. Newegg put these on sale for $499 today. So, I went to my local MicroCenter, and they price matched it for me! Very happy with it about 2 hours in. Feel like that's a pretty good deal as well. My MSI IPS LCD monitor had the backlight go out on it. Apparently a super common problem for the model I had. Not real happy about it since it was like 2 weeks after the 3 year warranty expired. That's a story for another time though. Probably won't buy another MSI monitor ever again though.

Blacks are truly pitch black. There is some blooming around light sources, but with HDR enabled it blends naturally into the overall image. (Because of compression, the blacks may look washed out in this photo, but on my screen they’re pure pitch black, as if the monitor is turned off.) This is from the Acer Nitro 1440p Mini-LED XV275U P3. I know the AOC Mini-LED models are even better. In my country, the cheapest OLED monitor costs more than twice as much as this Mini-LED, so I didn’t expect much when buying it, but I was genuinely impressed compared to the IPS LCD I had before. I absolutely recommend it to anyone who enjoys HDR content and either can’t afford OLED or simply doesn’t want one.

This build has already ruined console gaming for me 😄 Happy to answer questions about parts, prices, GST, Vedant experience, or settings. TL;DR First PC build ever. RTX 5080 + Ryzen 7 7800X3D + 4K Mini-LED monitor. PC cost \~₹2.1–2.15L after GST, \~₹2.55–2.6L including monitor. Most parts bought from Vedant Computers (cheaper than Amazon, fast delivery, great packing). HDR looked bad initially, tuning fixed it. Building a PC myself was insanely satisfying.

I honestly don't think it's as big of a difference as everyone else makes it out to be. If you have a ton of money, just buy one. If you have a good chunk of money, I'd evaluate what kind of content you like or work you do. If you need really good color accuracy or watch a ton of high-contrast media, then a decent OLED is worth buying. If you play single player games that are good when capped at 60 FPS (e.g. turn-based RPGs), and those games have great visuals, then I'd get a decent OLED if you don't have other possible upgrade paths. If all you play are Esports games, a high refresh rate IPS is fine. If you only have a few hundred in fun money, I'd honestly just get a ~$200 Acer Nitro or similar IPS monitor. They're great for the price, and I still get good use out of mine after purchasing an OLED. If you still can't decide, head to a local store with IPS and OLED monitors on display and play around with them.

Upgraded from Lenovo Legion R27i 30 IPS so my thoughts about this : Color Accuracy / Color Tone / Response Time / Black Level very good in other words superior to the Legion Only downside is the backlight bleed but i knew about this anyways it is minimal and much better than IPS glow and color shift. Seems that VA Panels have progressed in the right direction since my MSI VA that i had 5-6 years ago

Will be interesting if SteamOS can make inroads there. Most of my games work but anticheat compatibility is still an issue. I did give up on gaming laptops for now though. A MacBook Air and a Lenovo Go S has me covered for mobile.

Yeah, my choices were the same - The Lenovo one, the Acer VG240Y something and the msi you posted. MSI was 9.5k, lenovo was 9k and acer 8.5k, but acer is a little inferior compared to those two in terms of brightness, credibility ( cuz I've replaced my old acer monitor 3 times because they kept sending faulty ones) and QOL features. So the decision was between MSI and lenovo, and msi was only giving me 20 more hz which didn't seem like much since I don't play any competitive games, so I went with the Lenovo, it also has a sick stand which is super adjustable. I was thinking about buying a gas spring arm alongside the monitor, but after seeing the Lenovo stand, I'm keeping it on hold.

Man this market is tough. For one, there's a heap of VA mini-leds which have awesome contrast and less blooming but they're bound to have more ghosting and worse viewing angles than an IPS. This puts me right off them - I have seen videos of games like Poe or Diablo where this smear is so noticeable that it simply becomes a deal breaker for me. It looks downright awful and super distracting. Plus VRR flicker. And then you have IPS mini-led which I am interested in. These have a bit more blooming (which some models deal with a lot better than others) along with not quite as deep blacks as VA (which is honestly fine by me). The catch however is 1440p ones are so hard to find where I live - in fact the only ones available here are the Xiaomi ones (G Pro 27i & G Pro 27qi), but I've heard so many negative things about them that I don't think I'm gonna bother ordering one. There are some really good ones in the China market though (the Innocn and the Titan Army monitors are very popular in Asia). So at the moment I'm stuck with a standard 180hz IPS panel with annoying IPS glow and shitty contrast while waiting for a decent 1440p, IPS mini-led to come to the Australian market. OLED is simply not an option for me because of the 1440p text fringing, VRR flicker and, yes, as much as people want to deny it, eventual burn-in...oh and the tandems are so fucking expensive where I live.

Imho competetive CS2 -> I’d go for that TN AOC, especially if you want to have a clearer image not only due to the fact that downsizing on Oled is not optimal, but also because 600hz TN will give you less motion blur than 240hz Oled. Having said that I’d look for a third option - a Pulsar monitor. Currently you can buy from 4 producers (including AOC) with 360hz and that my friend will net you a better overall performance (especially way less motion blur) than other solutions mostly due to strobo feature in Pulsar monitors.

I've seen the Monitors Unboxed vid about the ASUS PULSAR and there are moments in the vid where you can see those black bars scrolling down and other moments where it doesnt Sure the vid says "This is not noticeable in real life" BUT it still does it...So will this mean it can csuse eye strain or headaches?

High End (well.. high-ish) IPS like the LG UltraGear 27GP850P-B, MSI Optix MAG274QRF-QD or Rog Swift PG279QM are great for working, And I've been playing on IPS for a long time without any problems. Also they're cheap used, reliable, and already grew out of their teething problem period. Mini-LED seem like a great idea for gaming, but to stay in budget I'd have to buy at the lower end. Namely the Xiaomi G Pro 27 or even the AOC. Not sure how well they work with, well, work. How their color spectrum is compared to ips. And if HDR and maybe better black level is worth all the problems they seem to still have. OLED is probably out because it's both too expensive and prone to burn in when using office for 8 hours a day.

After comparing prices and availability, I ended up with these three options: * APC Easy UPS BVX1600LI-GR 1600VA/900W — €179.99 * APC Back-UPS BX1600MI-GR 1600VA/900W — €224.90 * Eaton 5E Gen2 1600VA/900W — €185.90 Between these three options, I don't really understand the difference between the two APC models. Also, I've had two bad experiences with APC UPS units in the past, both lasted only about a year before needing to be replaced while powering the same setup I described above. My goal is simply to have enough time to safely shut down my PC when the power goes out. Which option would you choose? Or would you recommend something else?

Honestly there is no best monitor, they all have different strengths/panels. Often times even with the same brand/model there is some panel lottery. I personally got the ASUS TUF Gaming VG27AQM5A (300hz) lately and it's just as good as my Lg27gp850-b in terms of colors/contrast and has way better motion clarity. Got it for a deal at 194€ and I don't think you can find anything better than this at this price range, I'll keep it until I upgrade to 4k or Oled. Also if it fits in your budget the AOC Q27G3XMN/BK Mini LED is pretty popular I'd say. Tldr: you can't do much wrong with either, it's all panel lottery to some point.

If you can get LG UltraGear 27GP850P-B 27" on good sale, id highly recommend that. Vibrant colours, good 165 or 180 oc refresh rate, pretty much zero ghosting, and my unit at least have 0 backlight bleed. It is like +300 dollar monitor, but its better to spend tiny bit more on pretty good monitor than to settle for shitty experience.

My first ultrawide monitor ever and I think I got it for an absolute robbery of a price. Been using it for a couple days and literally 0 issues. 0 burn in, 0 dead pixels. Even has the samsung smart tv!

The anti glare surprised me! Wife and I hit up BestBuy to see if they had both in stock so I could get a real sense for them. Luckily, they had the 93SD (non smart version of the 95SD) and the GX9 side by side. The Samsung had practically no reflections, while GX9 glared terribly at any angle in comparison. I have a south facing window in my hobby room, which would make it unusable. With the amount of reflections, I'm sure even the mood lighting in the room would show at night.

Looking at both of these 32” 4k options with power delivery - not a lot of reviews to see with the new Samsung model and there are currently sales that price the two very comparatively.. I’ve recently had trouble on a Samsung gaming smart monitor to which usb c / display port issues with MacBook and pc Samsungs aesthetics and branding are still more attractive for me and seems this latest version ticks pretty much all the boxes the competition had released
