27M1 Gaming Monitor

Please give me some guidance, advice from personal experience or general recommendations :) I've got a max budget of roughly £300 and looking for a good 1440p monitor for mostly single player & co-op/PvE gaming, without sacrificing much in the way for productivity. From what I've understood from watching YouTube videos about monitors and reading on reddit etc; I'm currently looking for a 155hz+, IPS and ideally HDR1000/Mini-LED monitor. My shortlist so far: **AOC Q27G3XMN** (£300 currently) Has been mentioned a lot, but I'm not sure about going to a VA panel, and seems a bit low on the number of dimming zones. **Gigabyte M27Q2 QD** (£250 currently) The Q2 QD seems like a "safe" choice, but no stand out features/less of an upgrade and perhaps not as bright. **Gigabyte M27Q3** (£255 currently) The Q3 has just gone on sale for almost the same price as the Q" QD, but I don't really need the extra Hz and I think has worse contrast/colour accuracy? **LG UltraGear 27GS85Q** (£225 currently) Perhaps the least stand out features, but a safe and cheaper option? I also looked at the **MSI MAG 274QPF X30MV** and **KTC M27T6,** but both have fairly mixed reviews. About my existing setup. I have 10 year old LG 23"1080p IPS, 75Hz, 5ms monitor, which will become a second monitor. Depending on the weather (UK, so unpredictable), the room can get quite a lot of indirect sunlight at times which has been irritating for gaming at times. I have an RTX 3070, so 4K gaming would put me somewhere around 50fps, which is lower than I'd want. Am I right in saying that the general consensus is that running 1440p on a 4K monitor is not advised?

A few months back I asked here for opinions on some Chinese monitors. Didn’t get any replies, but that wasn’t going to stop me. I went ahead and picked up the **KTC M27T6S**, which was going for **992 RMB (\~$140)** on PDD. I shipped it to Zambia by sea because there was no way I was paying $180 for air freight. It took like two months to arrive. It’s been about three weeks since it landed, which feels like enough time for a light review. The **KTC M27T6S** is a **2K Mini-LED IPS** panel (note: the version sold in Western markets, the M27T6, is VA). It features **1,152 local dimming zones** and is rated for **1,000 nits** peak brightness (apparently it can hit **1,200 nits** under certain conditions). It goes up to **200 Hz**, which is more than enough for my anaemic 5600XT gpu. So far, it’s been great. It’s extremely bright (almost eye-searing at times, like in GOW Ragnarok which has these random white flashes in the menu) and feels very responsive. No issues at all in fast-paced games like Apex; I’m only bottlenecked by my gpu when trying to push higher FPS. I sit directly in front of it, so viewing angles have been a non-issue. Colour-wise, it does come a bit oversaturated out of the box with it leaning slightly too red in my opinion but this cab be dialed in with a bit of tweaking. The **sRGB** and **DCI-P3** modes are surprisingly decent if you prefer sticking to presets. All in all, it’s a ridiculous value for the price: **$140 for the monitor + $45 sea shipping** (shipping was a bit higher than I had anticipated because it had to be packed in a wooden skeleton crate for protection). For what you get, it’s absolutely a steal.

No, there are OLED monitors for less than 500. And because there is an updated version and the KTC M27T6

I have a 4k oled and a 1440p oled. I can say in games the difference is smaller but in text you can notice it for sure. The fringing is noticeable but and the text is pixelated. Both of those I cannot see on my 4k screen. But also I had this monitor for 2 years and I only got bothered by it after I saw how good it looks on 4k. I now prefer 4k for work usage Ignorance is bliss and if you are coming from a 1080p screen or a 1440p LCD screen I think it will be not that bad. Ik you want some 4k mini led recommendations in Europe these are the ones I found: Tlc 27r83u -> has a VA panel which shows the contrast better ktc m27p6 -> good ips screen for the price but focusses on brightness rather then contrast MSI MAG 274URDFW E16M -> good ips with more of a focus on contrast
