UltraGear 27GR93U Gaming Monitor

I bought an LG Ultragear monitor a few weeks back and have been loving it. Today I noticed a strange symbol has appeared. It flickers and is very faint, and seems to pulsate in visibility. You might have to zoom in to see the symbol, as it disappears with the pattern lines when unzoomed. ​ Am I cursed? ​​​ What is this? Edit: Turns out the curse was simply assassins creed! I turned the monitor off and on again at the power sauce and it fixed the issue. Woops! ​

With the help of reddit community i have completed my whole gaming build. I would like to thank everyone for clearing my doubts and creating. Currently i’m using my Sony XM4 headphone anyone has any good recommendations for a gaming headphones PC- Ryzen 5 9600x, zotac 5060ti 16gb, 32gb RAM. My 2year old monitor suddenly stopped receiving power. So as it was under warranty i contacted viewsonic and requested for RMA 1 month ago. They did provide RMA no. Right after contacted them but since then they just refuse to provide any service. I have been calling them almost every second day for the last one month and they just cut the call telling that we will call you back and never call. Wtf is this. People spend their hard earn money on this crap just to get tossed around. I had to buy another monitor as my work got stucked. I previously had an LG monitor which had some issues after 8 years of use and even when it was not under warranty they fixed it in just 3 days and just took 500rs for the repair.

I'm seriously blown away by how good this god damn OLED monitor is, I ended up going for the Lenovo Legion Pro 34 OLED 34WD-10 WQHD as it had a built-in hub (with 2.5 GB ethernet), KVM switch, a ton of ports, and multiple switches on the back to control the monitor including a mini joystick that feels light and clicky so it doesn't feel like you're moving the whole monitor when adjusting something. I'm running it on my RTX5090 (and it's G-Sync compatible too). Comes with the Avery software to control the monitor's settings within the software without using the switches. Overall I'm pretty pleased. For anyone that is considering this, it has the LG UltraGear panel, is slightly cheaper, and the 800R curve actually feels pretty natural/nice when using it for productivity + gaming. Has some great built-in anti-burn in protections, including a refresh. One great thing about this is that the power supply is built into the monitor, so no big chunky power bricks that take up a lot of space. Would highly recommend this to anyone considering biting the bullet. Key features that won me over against the LG UltraGear GX9, the Corsair Xeneon, Alienware, and MSI equivalent monitors (all of which lacked in 1 of the below areas or another): * High refresh rate of 240hz * Decent spec'd Ethernet built-in - 1 x 2.5 GB Ethernet * Decent spec'd USB built-in hub - 1 x USB-B, 3 x USB-A, 2 x USB-C (USB 5 Gbps / USB 3.2 Gen 1) * 120w USB-C charging and passthrough (display port) that charges and outputs using 1 USB C cable * Monitor vertical adjustment range of motion is ridiculously high If anyone has any questions on this one, let me know happy to answer anything specific. So far it's been amazing. No dead pixels or anything like that. Think one thing I have really appreciated is the built-in hub, genuinely has impressed me at the very high-spec. It's made my UGreen Revodock redundant, which was quite expensive too.

While I was asked to share my review, all opinions are entirely my own. I’ve been using the LG UltraGear evo 27GM950B as my main monitor, and for this initial impression I wanted to focus on how it fits into my actual setup. My main use case is a mix of desktop use, gaming, media, and general multitasking, so I was interested in how this monitor can balance image quality with everyday usability.  The biggest reason this monitor appealed to me was its use of Hyper Mini LED instead of OLED. While OLED is obviously very good for gaming, my main monitor usage is productivity, including static desktop elements on the screen such as Discord, Windows taskbar, coding windows, or random apps that sit open on my screen for a long time, not just fullscreen games or movies. Due to this, Mini LED makes a lot of sense for my setup. I can still get great HDR brightness and contrast but without the worry that I should baby the monitor or worry about burn-in from my desktop habits.  The first thing that immediately stood out to me was the sharpness of the display. At 218 PPI, text and UI elements look extremely crisp. It may not show up well in photos, but it is immediately noticeable in person. Websites, app interfaces, small text, game menus, and even the Windows desktop look very clean. Coming from a lower resolution display, the jump in text clarity is one of the biggest improvements I’ve noticed in my day to day use of this monitor.  HDR is another aspect in which this monitor shines. The monitor is rated for up to 1250 nits, and while I can’t measure with professional equipment, bright HDR scenes definitely have more of an impact than what I am used to from typical monitors. Sunlight, reflections, explosions, glowing effects, and bright UI elements stand out more. In games that have good HDR support, the image has more depth and punch.  For gaming, the combination of high resolution and HDR is the main appeal for me. Games look very detailed, and the extra sharpness makes environments, text, menus, and small visual details feel cleaner. The monitor feels like a great ‘do everything’ display rather than something that's focused on just one type of use case. With all of that being said, the biggest pain point that I would like improved is not from the monitor itself, but Windows scaling. I have a multi monitor setup with different resolutions and scaling and it can be a little annoying and take some time getting used to it. HDR on Windows can also take a bit of tweaking depending on the game so it may not always be a completely seamless experience. Overall my first impression of the UltraGear evo 27GM950B is that it makes the most sense for someone who wants a high-end gaming monitor but also spends a lot of time doing normal desktop tasks. For my setup, the appeal is the combination of 5k sharpness, strong HDR brightness, and the peace of mind from Mini LED for static UI elements and long desktop sessions. If a friend asked me whether they should get Mini LED or OLED, I would have to ask them how much desktop/static UI use they have, how bright their room is, and whether burn-in worry would change how they use the monitor, and from my usage, the easy recommendation I can make is that Mini LED feels like a more practical fit for most people.
