Predator X38 Gaming Monitor

fwiw, overnight battery drain is alright on windows depending on the OEM. my acer predator helios doesn't drop at all when it's in my bag, but it's because of all of the adjustments acer made and custom tooling software that they produced for it. it does suck that only specific OEMs are actually going to have that QoL and that native windows does not really.

I’ve been using an Acer Predator UltraWide for about 5 years and am thinking about upgrading to something new. What are the better UltraWide monitors out right now and which would you recommend? Also would you recommend OLED or non OLED panels for gaming with some productivity here and there?

Hi all! Currently looking at upgrading my monitor setup alongside my pc I’ve recently upgraded! (running a 5080 + Ryzen7 9800 for those curious!) With my desk size, I’m looking at running two 27” monitors, and was looking at this ACER Nitro. Does anyone have any experience with this specific monitor? Or is there another one that anyone could recommend? I’m also curious about blooming (I haven’t had MiniLED before), and MiniLED vs OLED monitors (blooming vs burn in basically). I’m also interested in using a monitor arm thing instead of the basic stands, something I also haven’t had before, and I’m unsure on general compatibility with arms, or whether they’re worth it/any potential issues with them? (looking to save as much desk space as possible is why I’m considering them!) I just want things to look pretty and monitors aren’t my speciality when it comes to PCs so any advice or recommendations are welcome, thank you!

Hi everyone! I’m looking to upgrade to either OLED or MiniLED, but I’m honestly torn on what I should go for in my use case. I want to go back to a flat panel from a 34” curved QHD panel, so here’s some background and what I need from the monitor: \- Budget is between $350-650 (would prefer to stay under $450 though unless it’s a steal) \- I would use it for work (lots of reading and spreadsheets), browsing, gaming, and watching shows/sports. \- I’m open to 27” or 32”, and would prefer glossy. \- I’d hook up my PS5, 3070 PC (I’ll upgrade in the next two years), and a MacBook Pro for work (USB-C and/or a KVM would be nice but not necessary). \- I play a mix of single player and FPS games but I don’t need a super high refresh rate. Picture/smoothness matter most to me \- I have a window behind my desk chair on the adjacent wall, but no sunlight pointing directly at the monitor and the office doesn’t even get that bright anyway. I’ve heard OLED is gorgeous, but can have poor readability and burn-in can be a problem with a relatively static screen for multiple hours a day. I know I for sure want a glossy panel no matter what. Should I go OLED or MiniLED? If OLED - QD or WOLED? What resolution should I go with? What screen size would look best at said resolution? Please help!
