I mostly play online competitive games like Overwatch 2, so I don't particularly care about a great image quality. All I care about is that the image is clear, fast, and that it doesn't give me headaches with black smearing, viewing angles and stuff like that. As long as the colours aren't patently bad, I'm fine. Recently a friend of mine kinda talked me into getting a miniled panel, and suggested I buy the TCL 27G64, since he had it before and he liked it a lot. The best option on RTING for the same price range is the AOC q27g3xmn. Reading reviews on reddit, it looks like both have issues with black smearing, or hertz sync, or viewing angles. Why would I even spend 320€ on these screen, when they're still a headache? Isn't it better to just go for the cheap 150€ ones that just get their normal job done? What models would you guys suggest I buy? Tyvm

I recently got the TCL 32R84 which suffered this out of the box. I picked this up for $789CAD as part of Amazon BF deals. Love it as an all around workhorse! Been seeing lots of posts about the newer HDR monitors getting the washed out effect in W11 desktop, this is due to the desktop being in SDR and from what I understand to be W11 applying some sort of incorrect gamma when running in HDR mode, I won't go into this because I am not an expert in this regard. The typical (and suggested) remedy is to run SDR mode on desktop and only HDR with HDR content. There are also other bandaid solutions that involve icc profiles that apply a gamma adjustment. Note that out of the box the monitor is actually quite well calibrated in SDR. The [chimolog](https://chimolog.co/tcl-32r84/) review is pretty reliable in this regard. TCL did include a factory calibration report that appears to be quite in line with their specs. I cannot prove this yet. I will eventually create a true SDR profile once my colorimeter arrives for photo/content creation but until then my goal was to get a very useable HDR mode that can be used all the time for both SDR and HDR content! Well, after playing around a bit, I tuned HDR mode in W11, got it to the point where no washed color on desktop. I found the Windows HDR calibration tool to work best in combination with certain settings on the monitor itself. Create an ICC profile with it after making the manual adjustments in the monitor below. Here is a link to the one created by the tool for my [monitor](https://filebin.net/fuwrnfx6jd5emugk). Also ensure Application Color Management is disabled and that you have set the color depth to 10-bit (this should be by default - but sometimes if your cable does not support the HDMI 2.1 or DisplayPort 1.4+ bandwidth it may be called at 8-bit). Here are my monitor settings when used in a lit office space with no natural light. It also works very well in the dark too! Smart HDR: DisplayHDR Color temperature: 55R 51G 52B Saturation: 57R 55G 55B Brightness: 60 Local Dimming: Medium for desktop, High if you want deep blacks in dark room. Response Time: Fastest 165Hz Connecting via DisplayPort Dark Part Brightening 0 when in lit room, -3 in dark room for HDR content Sample images below with lit room and desktop wallpaper and some HDR videos from YouTube with lights out. I forgot to turn off my laptop's RGB light (legion) so some pictures may show some light artifacts emitting from the bottom. These settings worked for me but may not replicate the exact same experience for you, but it's worth a try!

A new 25-inch TCL mini-LED monitor with a 300Hz refresh rate has been listed on Flipkart in India. Are we going to have more mini led monitors here? Does anyone know more about mini-LED monitors available in India? I am looking for 27 inch mini led monitors, but turns out the markets is just pitch black, unlike US. The best options are QD oled around 40K but they come with their own issues.

Current setup: Currently rocking a very “vintage” 24” 1080p monitor… by vintage I mean it’s fighting for its life every time I launch a game. 60Hz (on a good day), colours are kinda vibes-based, and I’m pretty sure it wheezes when things get intense. Why I want a TCL gaming monitor: I’ve been seeing TCL’s gaming monitors pop up and honestly it feels like jumping from a bicycle to a spaceship. Higher refresh rate, better picture, actual smooth gameplay?? Couldn’t be me… yet. Would love to finally experience what “smooth” is supposed to look like instead of guessing. I’m in Australia so getting one here shouldn’t be a problem — just need the upgrade before my current monitor files for retirement.
