Top Load Washing Machine

Had a Miele dishwasher that crapped out after about 7 years. Had a whirlpool that broke after less then five. Last year I bought another Miele. The Miele dishwashers have a higher quality feel compared to any other. The trays slide in and out smoothly. AEG, Zanussi and Electrolux are all part of the same group. My AEG washing machine has been going for over 15 years and is holding strong. Rest of my kitchen is all AEG and 11 years old.

I purchased a refurbished washing machine when I bought my current home 4 years ago from someone in my area that is well known for selling refurbished appliances and does FANTASTIC work. In the last couple of weeks my washing machine has stopped filling all the way no matter which water level setting you choose. I've taken the hoses off the back and made sure there are no kinks in them and that the sediment filters were clean but that didn't fix the problem. My next thought is that the water fill sensor may need to be replaced. I'm trying to find a model number for this washer to look up information on the sensor, but im confused about the model of this washer. The information on the front says it's an Estate by Whirlpool washer. The model number under the lid says Kitchenaid Stylemaster No. 622768. How do I figure out the model number on this washer to find parts for it???

After reading the comments and doing some more digging, I decided to go with one of the [**dishwashers from Samsung**](https://reddit-out.link/samsung-dishwasher) because they had a lot of options that fit my budget and had the third rack my wife wanted. We ended up with one that has the StormWash feature and it has been great so far. It actually gets all the dried on stuff off without us having to pre-rinse everything in the sink first. Plus it is way quieter than our old Whirlpool, which is huge since our living room is right there. Note: I may earn a small commission from the link above. Our dishwasher died after 12 years and we're shopping for a replacement. The old one was a mid-range Whirlpool that worked great until it didn't. Now I'm looking at options under 800 bucks and reviews are all over the place. My wife insists on a third rack for utensils which limits options. I just want something that cleans dried on food without pre-rinsing everything because that defeats the purpose of having a dishwasher. Noise level matters since our kitchen is open to the living room. Energy efficiency would be nice but honestly I care more about it actually working well. Some people swear Bosch is worth the extra money, others say American brands are just as good and easier to get parts for when they break. For people who've bought dishwashers recently, is Bosch really that much better or is it brand hype? And what features actually matter for cleaning performance vs what's just nice to have extras?

I pulled the filter and it was clean. I used afresh tabs because I had them, but I will try citric acid moving forward. I just read on another thread that suds means there's something reacting or breaking down. There was a lot of suds in my wash cycle. Edit: Whirlpool Afresh tabs were used.

Since OP mentioned they also use the Normal cycle, I'd like to add that I noticed my new (Whirlpool) top loader does a spray rinse for that cycle as well, and I personally avoid using it without an extra rinse. Side note: Downy Rinse & Refresh is not a fabric softener, it's a citric acid rinse which helps remove residue from clothes. It's a pretty great product!
