Fully Automatic Front Load Washing Machine

So my new washing machine wasn’t washing properly - it’s a front loader Siemens. I was wracking my mind trying to figure out what it was, going through all the cycles etc, but the detergent wasn’t washing out properly. I did extra rinses, ended up running a complete new rinse cycle every time I washed something and was about to send it back. I thought maybe things had changed dramatically since my last washing machine (also a Siemens) from about 7 years ago and that it was just the worst type of enshittification. Honestly it was driving me mad. There was also loads of gunk appearing on the seal which has never happened to me before in 30+ years of owning a washing machine. Anyway, after much searching and whatnot, I tried a washing pod in the machine instead of powder and saw that the pod was left in the front part of the door seal partially undissolved. Ended up searching some more and found that the machine was maybe not getting enough water, if this was what was happening, so looked when it was running and sure enough not enough water was in the drum. Internet search then suggested checking the water connection and sure enough the installation crew had only turned the tap on half way! I turned it on fully, ran a drum cleaning cycle to get all the gunk out and it’s fine now. So check your tap connections after installation! I was so annoyed as it did ruin a couple of pieces of clothing as well during this phase (over agitation without enough water). Hopefully this will help someone else who searches on this topic.

Hi Everyone, I've always had trouble putting the right amount of detergent in for the specific load. so I bought an "Automatic Dosing" washing machine (Siemens iQ500 i-Dos). How it works is incredibly simple: you set the base dose for a medium load as per your detergent instructions. You only have to do this once when you get the machine and then you can forget about it. The machine takes control from there, weighing each load and calculating the exact milliliters needed. What do you think? Avoid Samsung at any cost. Bosch (Siemens) however is a great choice.

Our good old friend from Siemens left us after 5 years (it was a gift from grand mother so we don’t know how old it was) and we are looking for a good replacement. We want something simple to use (no need of wifi, too many programs, caps dosing) The two final contendents: Miele W1 WWA 120 WCS at 799€ Vs Bosch Series 6 WGG244ZMFG at 549€ Durability and quality wise, is 250€ more for the Miele worth it?
