Filter: H14 hepa 3rd party replacement for xiaomi fan: hewa 500rs 25W exhaust foam double sided tape, 2 pinplug, 2meter twisted pair cable all cost less than 50. cardboard was from the same box these arrived in. however I suggest going for the official replacement instead of 3rd party ones if you can. that would cost around 3600 to make and you will have the peace of mind that it really is hepa certified unlike the one i bought. coway is a great option too. talking about purifying, it does the job surprisingly well! I can feel air getting lighter in less than 20 minutes. I can't feel that heavy cold and pain on my nose anymore. my nostrils are all opened up. no more unnecessary coughing. the difference is clear. Hi everyone, With the AQI hitting severe levels in Delhi/NCR right now, I know many of you are looking at air purifiers. I am writing this to warn you: **Do not buy from the Mi Store or Xiaomi Air Purifiers.** I ordered a Xiaomi Air Purifier Filter (Order ID: 5251109121610377). It arrived damaged, and my experience with their support has been a nightmare. **The Incident:** * **Delivered:** Nov 13th at 7:31 PM. * **Unboxing Video:** Recorded at 7:34 PM (Exactly 3 minutes later). I opened the outer box and saw the filter was broken. **Crucially, the inner factory plastic seal was 100% intact.** I have clear video proof showing the damage existed inside the sealed bag. I sent this video to Xiaomi support immediately. They rejected it. They claimed their "internal warehouse footage" shows it was sent correctly and the delivery partner "confirmed" no damage. They are completely ignoring the reality that I have video proof of the item being damaged *inside* the seal just 3 minutes after delivery. If they can deny a claim even with this level of proof, their warranty/support means nothing. **My Advice:** Don't make the same mistake I did. The build quality is questionable and the support is non-existent when things go wrong. **Better to go with Coway or Phillips.** They might cost a bit more, but at least you won't be stuck with a broken unit and a company that calls you a liar despite video evidence. I have filed a chargeback and a consumer court complaint. Avoid Xiaomi.

Coway Airmega made a huge difference for me. Less dust, room stopped smelling stuffy, and my allergies chilled out after like a week. Been using it for over 2 years and still solid. I’d buy the same one again tbh

And keep in mind, chemical contamination containment in an already clean room is NOT what you are trying to do at home. You are trying to capture polution particals FASTER THAN THEY RE-ENTER YOUR HOUSE/ROOM. Which means you need a system that can filter out large volumes of air quickly from your room using a big surface area and high airflow. ....which means the only HEPA air purifiers that will make that happen are the big ones that like from Coway that cost around ₹15,000 to ₹30,000+ Your small diy ₹2000 HEPA filter purifier *might* help a little bit and is better than nothing, but only if you are willing to make your room as airtight as possible, and that might not be good for oxygen flow or might even be impossible to do for your room!! But let's say you CAN afford something in the range of ₹12,000 and are willing to spend that much coz without it you'll die due to serious health issues..... What other options do you have? You can build a "Corsi–Rosenthal Box" !! A Corsi–Rosenthal Box uses "MERV-13" filters instead, that have higher airflow and can catch particals just as small as HEPA filters can. It just requires multiple passes of the air going through the filter to do it, but most polution will be removed in the first pass. It also uses 4 of them together, giving you 4 times the filter surface area!! ___________ There is a catch tho. They don't sell MERV-13 in India locally, and you'll have to import a set of 4 branded filters. (You do get them on amazon.in tho which is nice) Now, I know that sounds expensive, but if you actually do a comparison of costs, it's really about the same as HEPA!! A single branded Coway filter costs ₹3500. 4 of them cost ₹14,000!! And if you go with a local option, it's ₹1300 a piece. 4 of them cost ₹5,100 but with no garentee for if they are even genuine. 4 merv-13 filter sets come for around ₹7,000 to ₹10,000+ (depending on your vendor and units per set). Since amazon.in is what most people use, I'll consider its price of ₹10,000 for 4 filters as an average cost for them. With just an additional ₹2,000 (at max) for a 10" exhaust fan for pushing the Air, and some tape and cardboard, you now have a ₹12,000 air purifier that performs same if not better than a ₹15,000-₹30,000 air purifier at filtering large volumes of air quickly!! _______________ I put a lot of time and effort into writing this post and I really hope it helps people. Hi I’m looking for a good air purifier, I don’t know very much but I like to do my research and find what’s good for my money. Im not even entirely sure what I’m looking for. So far I’ve looked at \- WINIX 5520 \- Levoit Vital 200S \- Xiaomi 4 Compact \- Kenmore PM1005 Should I look for something else? I know air purifiers seem fairy simple, but this rabbit hole keeps getting deeper. I have allergic rhinitis (including dust and mold allergies) and own a Winix air purifier as well as a Vortex fan with carbon canister. Neither of these has made any difference for me. I generally sweep the floor in my bedroom every morning and there's still plenty of dust even if the purifier or fan has been running there all night. At this point I'm wondering if the electricity use is worth it. My symptoms only improve if I move to a less polluted/ humid location geographically (which fortunately I've been able to do). I grew up in humid Florida with sneezing and sinus congestion issues most of my life. This affected my sleep and ability to do almost anything. Recently asked for an allergy panel on my bloodwork at the doctor's office and was diagnosed with a severe dust mite allergy. Months down the line, I have finally been able to address it and regained my life back. Wanted to share in case there is someone else out there in a similar situation! 1. Dust mites thrive in >50% RH (relative humidity). I spent some time living in Denver, CO with almost 0 symptoms due to the year-round dryness. But for humid climates, you can buy a large dehumidifier ($100+). Just look for 15+ pints/day of moisture removal. Small desktop ones will not outpace air leakage. Use a cheap meter to measure for yourself. Target <40% RH if you can! But note: dehumidification will address live dust mite populations over weeks. It will NOT remove existing allergen particles that are already present! So step 2 is even more important! 2. Buy a HEPA mattress vacuum cleaner and run multiple times over ALL cushions/bedding in your household: pillows, mattresses, couches, linens etc. I got the FEPPO one for $80 on Amazon and was shocked by how much dust came out of things! Where possible, a hot wash and dry help too, of course! 3. Buy dust-mite-proof whole mattress and pillow encasements. I got the Hospitology ones for \~$40 (each) on Amazon. If you have an old couch, consider getting rid of it entirely. It is unfortunately very difficult to encase properly or vacuum out all the allergen particles embedded deep beneath the surface. 4. Change out your A/C filters every month! Use MERV 8 or 11 filters (any higher may strain your A/C unit). I get mine in bulk from filterbuy(dot)com. You can additionally get an air purifier with HEPA filters and run it 24/7. Levoit makes some great ones (<$50 on Amazon)! 5. After exposure, allergen particles can stick to your clothes and continue triggering symptoms the whole day, even after leaving the original source! Now if I notice my allergies flaring up, I try to shower and put on a clean set of clothes as soon as possible! 6. Humidity is always high in bathrooms. Replace thick fluffy carpets with a flat mat if you can! Hope this helps at least one person out there regain their life back! Upfront costs were hefty, but the investment was well worth it for me. I don't use any antihistamine medications or allergy shots AT all (so no side effects!)

Price for the Air filter is not really a matter since it won’t personally cost me neither is filter replacement, with voltage use mattering more. I’ve been looking at Air Doctor and Levoit. I haven’t seen much at all on Air Doctor and they have prices running from $500 and up. Levoit has cheaper prices with more reviews. If they get the same job done with the same performance I might as well stick with the cheaper one. Does anyone currently use any other air filters that they are happy with and would recommend to someone else in a heart beat?

I'm planning to buy Levoit core 300 in Bangalore, India. Wherever I see, some brands like coway, xiaomi, qubo, philips are being recommended. My room is 12x12x12 approx 1728 cubic feet. I stay alone, no pets. My budget is upto 10k INR. Should I go with levoit or is there something I am missing?

Sans is terrible. Shark is mediocre. Avoid both. Coway is generally one of the highest quality consumer-grade brands. Winix is good, more mid-grade. Blueair has an always-on ionizer. Some people want to avoid this because of possible health effects associated with ionizers or changes in gaseous air chemistry. Per the AHAM 2/3 rule, a space 600-800 sq. ft. needs minimum Clean Air Delivery Rates (CADRs) of 400 CFM - 534 CFM. Unfortunately your budget doesn't support a single large or multiple conventional HEPA purifiers. This is gonna be a bit of a rant: I’ve been feeling this on social media a lot lately, that everyone’s constantlyyyy trying to sell you something. Like there’s some sort of stakes involved, some affiliate business behind the scenes. It makes me so frickin’ mad, like I have no idea what to buy, what not to buy, million different voices screaming in my frickin face about random brands I’ve never even heard about. Is it all a scam???? Cos that’s hella what it feels like. Stopped trusting instagram creators entirely, but reddit I think is mostly safe in all of this, there’s a couple of bad eggs here and there. So found this random website I’ve been trawling the reddit vetted site, basically a product comparison algorithm, (most of the data seems to be from reddit and amazon) and the results made me go a little bit like huh????? So onto the situation at hand that i was on reddit vetted for: Been wanting to get a bifl vacuum cleaner, don’t have any preferences for corded or cordless, I just know the cordless ones do tend to die out a little quicker in terms of shelf life. (I have spent too much time being scammed by instagram trad wife creators here, so bear with me). I was obviously considering the dyson but the ratings on reddit vetted were abysmal for a lot of their models, like the Ball Animal 3 was at 2.8ish stars I think. I’ve always been under the impression from social media that dyson’s become people’s holy grail brand. Has that just been a really long thought out marketing stint? Or does it only apply to their air wrap cos the hype around that was insane. I really feel like a lot of brands have started just gaining traction because they’re trending and their appliances dont actually work for more than a year. Experienced this first hand when I got a remington straightener and boy did that baby die out on me fasss I wanna make sure the vacuum I buy at least lasts 5-7 years and right now I’m leaning more towards the Miele one (3.6 stars) even though it’s like a hundred dollars cheaper. Now, I trust the data, I think algorithms at least get the frequency of positive or negative reviews right, so I was wanting to confirm these ratings here from real people. Is there any other way I could confirm these ratings, without manually having to go through reviews? Is the dyson really that bad to have such low ratings? Hello! I am new to the air purifier world and have found your videos tremendously helpful! I am looking for a budget friendly option to improve air quality to specifically mitigate VOCs. My apartment building is being renovated (my apartment itself is not being renovated but the VOCs are finding their way into our space). We own rats who have extremely sensitive respiratory systems and are worried about their health. We are also concerned for our own health but can’t spend more than $200 at the moment. Unfortunately, the Austin unit is far out of our price range but I saw that the Levoit Vital 200s is within our price range and does have some VOC filtration capabilities. I also saw in the comparison video that the Levoit offers specialized filters for more smoke and VOC filtration. Is this our best value/budget option? Would also love for the air purifier to filter ammonia and dust well, as these are also major irritants for our little ratties! Thank you in advance! I had the idea to buy an air purifier. I've never owned one, I've almost always used the "air purifier" function of my air conditioner, but I would like better performance in deodorizing the room from cooking and food odors. I've seen some reviews for the Levoit Vital 100S. My room is about 15m² (approximately 161 sq ft) and it seems like it could do a good job. i’m in the US, moving into a 733sq ft apartment. I have cats, so mainly looking for help with pet dander as well as odors and dust. Looking for suggestions from people who have actually used this product.

I got Honeywell Air Touch v5 for 10K and is working pretty good so far. I feel the air is a lot better inside now. The only downside is that for connecting with the app, you need to use 2.4 Ghz channel and most of us are using 5 Ghz nowadays. But you won’t need the app that much as everything is automatic. If you’re bothered by that, go with the Philips one.

It arrived damaged, and my experience with their support has been a nightmare. **The Incident:** * **Delivered:** Nov 13th at 7:31 PM. * **Unboxing Video:** Recorded at 7:34 PM (Exactly 3 minutes later). I opened the outer box and saw the filter was broken. **Crucially, the inner factory plastic seal was 100% intact.** I have clear video proof showing the damage existed inside the sealed bag. I sent this video to Xiaomi support immediately. They rejected it. They claimed their "internal warehouse footage" shows it was sent correctly and the delivery partner "confirmed" no damage. They are completely ignoring the reality that I have video proof of the item being damaged *inside* the seal just 3 minutes after delivery. But only 60-70% as good as the Airmega when it comes to air purifying. What really matters, is HEPA CADR at an acceptable indoor decibel level (40db or less). Energy consumption at that level also has secondary importance, as running it 24/7 will cost you a fair amount over the lifetime of the appliance. You need an oversized DC fan/blower (sound increases exponentially with fan tip speed), a high quality cabinet, and deep HEPA filters. Those pc fan + low MERV filter kits will do basically nothing. I think the Coway Pro X is the best large room filter, Levoit 600 best medium, Coway 150 best small. Coway also has stuff that competes in the medium range, but I think it’s overpriced. Remember that you won’t actually run the filter at the advertised CADR rate, because the noise will be excessive, so you have to base the actual CFM on the lowest 2 levels (usually). The only thing that gets used on an air filter is the motor (aside from the filters), so make sure it’s a fully sealed DC motor, and it should last a very long time.

Daikin 2 ton AC, the area you've mentioned is quite large and in Haryana summers, temperature can go really high+ sun exposure. It would far exceed your budget but if you can stretch it, it's the right way to go.

The newer models have WiFi built in so you can set them up with central controls and use an app. A condo I own has Daikin mini-split system and has been working great. Was installed in 2016. Heat pumps do well in moderate to temperate climates. They struggle in far northern regions where winter drops well below freezing temperatures. You may be able to call the manufacturer customer support and they help you with the correct size of system you need.

Ultimately just pulled the trigger on a Daikin that someone linked on here that’s still on sale for 39.01 on Amazon. You may want to check it out. I thought of building one, but as easy as it looks, I’ve never been good with making things so I wanted to get something else first and try that later maybe. I have pretty bad allergies so every dust season (damn that sounds dystopian) they act up. I lived in a few condos and there’s a noticeable difference in symptoms with and without air purifiers. I currently have 2 and planning to get another 1, so I have 1 for each room. In some people’s eyes it may seem like a waste of money but in my eyes it’s an insurance for your health. We have Molekule. It’s hospital grade (about $1000 each) but I have severe allergies and a kid with severe asthma. We also have air quality monitoring equipment in the house. We have one in each room. It has helped tremendously. It even picks up and digitally tells us if it picks up viruses, bacteria, mold, VOC. The replacement filters are over $200 but 100% would recommend! I also deep clean every week walls to baseboards with natural cleaners like soap and water and vinegar.

So my MIL has a front loader LG washer and hates it. Wants to get rid of it. My GMA has the LG top loader with the agitator and doesn’t really like it. She says it doesn’t really clean that well even tho it has an agitator. Aunt has a top loader Samsung with agitator and doesn’t like it either. I ended up getting a top loader Pet pro Maytag with agitator and love it. When it came down to it, it was between 2 brands for me, and what I needed (Pet hair options) and it was Speed Queen, and Maytag. I think a front loader works better because well gravity but I have a preference for the top loader.

I am a person who always uses the decreased power ratings on a microwave. I am so happy w my Panasonic inverter microwave, which I think is the only model that actually fires at 50% as requested (instead of 100% power for 50% of the time). That’s most important to me , more than form factor.
