Mi Air Purifier 3

Hi everyone, With the AQI hitting severe levels in Delhi/NCR right now, I know many of you are looking at air purifiers. I am writing this to warn you: **Do not buy from the Mi Store.** I ordered a Xiaomi Air Purifier Filter (Order ID: 5251109121610377). It arrived damaged, and my experience with their support has been a nightmare. **The Incident:** * **Delivered:** Nov 13th at 7:31 PM. * **Unboxing Video:** Recorded at 7:34 PM (Exactly 3 minutes later). I opened the outer box and saw the filter was broken. **Crucially, the inner factory plastic seal was 100% intact.** I have clear video proof showing the damage existed inside the sealed bag. I sent this video to Xiaomi support immediately. They rejected it. They claimed their "internal warehouse footage" shows it was sent correctly and the delivery partner "confirmed" no damage. They are completely ignoring the reality that I have video proof of the item being damaged *inside* the seal just 3 minutes after delivery. If they can deny a claim even with this level of proof, their warranty/support means nothing. **My Advice:** Don't make the same mistake I did. The build quality is questionable and the support is non-existent when things go wrong. **Better to go with Coway or Phillips.** They might cost a bit more, but at least you won't be stuck with a broken unit and a company that calls you a liar despite video evidence. I have filed a chargeback and a consumer court complaint. Avoid Xiaomi.

I have been using both the Xiaomi Smart Air Purifier 4 and the Coway Airmega 150 for a few months now. Best ones in the market rn under ₹20k. Although there's not much fancy stuff on there, the Airmega is just superior when it comes to air purifying. It has a HEPA filter and a separate air filter as well. Downside is no AQI display. (just an LED indicator) The Xiaomi on the other hand has a lot of features. App Control - Alexa compatible - PM2.5 AQI/Temp./Humidity Sensor. It also tells you how much longer the filter will last. It comes with its own proprietary "HEPA certified" filter that you can buy only on [mi.com](http://mi.com); which is kind of a bummer. But does the job. But only 60-70% as good as the Airmega when it comes to air purifying. TLDR: \- Coway Airmega 150 is the best functionality wise \[Prices are a little hiked up rn\] \- Xiaomi Smart Air Purifier 4 is feature packed, if it matters to you. FYI, Both help keep the AQI under 10 at all times when the windows and doors are fully closed. For perspective, I live around the vadapalani area right next to the metro construction. Anticipating the next question, Xiaomi is often recommended as a good air purifier option. Multiple smaller units will often be better than one really big unit, but there are lots of nuances for noise level, filter efficiency, filter life, cost and availability, etc.

I use the Xiaomi air purifier. It still does the same job in cleaning the air. The HEPA filters are more or less the same. Its good to have it when you have guests coming home and they smoke. If not, its normal to have normal dusty air. We have been living with it for years.
