What really matters, is HEPA CADR at an acceptable indoor decibel level (40db or less). Energy consumption at that level also has secondary importance, as running it 24/7 will cost you a fair amount over the lifetime of the appliance. You need an oversized DC fan/blower (sound increases exponentially with fan tip speed), a high quality cabinet, and deep HEPA filters. Those pc fan + low MERV filter kits will do basically nothing. I think the Coway Pro X is the best large room filter, Levoit 600 best medium, Coway 150 best small. Coway also has stuff that competes in the medium range, but I think it’s overpriced. Remember that you won’t actually run the filter at the advertised CADR rate, because the noise will be excessive, so you have to base the actual CFM on the lowest 2 levels (usually). The only thing that gets used on an air filter is the motor (aside from the filters), so make sure it’s a fully sealed DC motor, and it should last a very long time.

Yeah I wouldn’t take purchase advice from a doctor. They’re great at many things, but appliance recs isn’t one of them. Winix or Coway are two great options. If you have the budget and want a lifetime warranty get an Alen.

I’ve narrowed it down to two models, and I’m trying to decide which one to pick (or whether to keep looking). About my situation: I live in Gurugram, India (Dehi NCR) My space is 12ft* 12ft aa I'm planning to use the air purifier mainly for my bedroom My main concerns: dust (there’s quite a bit), general air-quality, and occasional odors (cooking / outside pollution). I don’t have heavy smoke or chemical VOC issues as best I know. I’d like something relatively quiet (for bedroom use) and reasonably cost-effective (including filter replacements). My budget is around 13000 INR or 150$ I'm currently thinking of either Coway airmega Aim or Mi air purifier 14 lite, leaning slightly towards the Mi one as i think it has cheaper replacement filters at around 2000 INR (3rd party) Which of these 2 is better ? Or any other recommendations ? I was also looking at coway airmega 150 but it's out of stock with most retailers here. The one's who do carry it are currently selling it around 16k which is slightly overbudget for me , is it worth the extra bucks ?

Hey awesome people, Will Coway Air Mega Aim purifier's fan make my family feel cold during winters? At the time, when we don't want any fan to be running in the room as the weather would already be a lot cold. Context: Coway airmega 150 is out of stock for India/Delhi NCR region, so planning to buy coway air mega aim as the next best purifier according to me. Due to the above doubt, I'm a bit sceptical on buying AIM, so need help. Details requested: 14*14 sq ft room. Budget around 15k. Want atleast Hepa 13 filter in the purifier. Thanks!

My main concerns: 1. Noise levels for sleeping: I plan to use this in a bedroom (approx. 4.5m x 2.5m). Which one is quieter on its lowest setting? I need it to be whisper-quiet while I sleep. 2. Performance vs. Convenience: The Coway is well-known for its high CADR (421 m3/h) and solid reputation, but it has no smart features. I use Homebridge, so with the Coway, I’d be limited to a smart plug (On/Off only). 3. Smart Integration: The Xiaomi 4 Lite has a slightly lower CADR (360 m3/h) but integrates fully with HomeKit via Homebridge. This allows me to see PM2.5 levels and adjust fan speeds or set automations (like "Night Mode") directly from my phone.
