Hey all, I need some help regarding mesh vs hardwired bridged routers. I've never messed with either before so this is all new to me. My friend has a large (6000+ sqft) barndominium style house and is having wifi issues throughout the house. The left 1/3 of the house is a multiple garage setup (with corrugated steel on the walls and ceiling) where the utility room containg the router is located. The utility room is on the right side of the garage so it's close to the middle 1/3 of the house where there's an office and multiple bedrooms. The right 1/3 of the house is kitchen, living room and dining area. I have limited time to help him with his problem, which is why I'm searching for help here. His router is a "D-Link Eagle Pro AI Mesh WiFi 6 Router". He has since bought 3 more of those to use as a mesh. My question is, since the main router is encased inside the steel lined garage, and since there's multiple Cat6 wires running to every room in the house, would it be better to put the 2 router in bridged mode in the office which is in the middle of the house, and then mesh the other 2 to that router (if that's even possible)... Or just put the other 2 in bridged mode as well and hardwired them throughout the house? Would having the 3 additional routers in bridged mode maintain a solid wireless connection throughout the house or would mesh be better for that? Thanks in advance for all help/suggestions.

So I am using Excitel ISP (in india) and their ONT is very bad, so I purchased and Dlink R15 Router (and using it in bridge mode) However I have my wifi devices as well as 2 proxmox clusters which are connected via gigabit switch and then to the router When the clusters were on, and when it have been more 10 min while they were online, the internet starts to act weirdly Like Google related sites will work, but if you visit some other site it will through "ERR_ADDRESS_UNREACHABLE" Apps like WhatsApp, IOT apps, and many apps will start to lose internet access, The speedtest can ping with nearest server with 6 MS ping but it fails to do speed test everytime. Initially I thought it was DNS issue so I changed the DNS to both google and cloudflare one after another and still same issue after 10 min or router reboot, Few things which I noticed are while apps and website were not working, My cloudflare tunnel was stable and my Tailscale was stable (which is on proxmox cluster), devices can communicate to devices on local LAN Then I researched and disabled Ipv6 completely, still same issue I did MTU test and it was stable at 1500, so Its currently 1492 in router settings Even apps like reddit says "check your internet connection" and its persistent across all devices (and some of them arent even connected via tailscale) I thought my ISP was rate limiting me but as soon as I turn off my proxmox clusters the issue resolved after few minutes across devices The Proxmox clusters are connected via ipv6, I even checked Wireshark and there were no broadcast stroms Its been 3 months since Im facing this issue and I dont have any idea why it is, The connection is of 200mbps.

The modem/wifi is from the inter company. Bell canada. The router is dlink.

U can get D-Link m30 (which I find to be the cheapest option rn which supports openwrt) Few months ago it was going for around 3500 There's also n100 based mini PC's which u can get for around 20k - 30k , they come in all kinds of configurations Like 4x2.5g, sfp etc, u can check sudobox.in Another alternative is to just get a lenevo p330,m720q,m920q,m920x + compatible riser + a NIC that u want (the riser costs 3k :/ on the only site I found in India which sell these refurb.co , there also a 4 port 2.5g NIC selling for 5k) And then theres hp t740 or other such mini pc form factor machine which imo are the best mainly coz u won't need to hunt for pcie risers and usually cheaper than lenevo tiny series (but very rare to find) The best config imo is to get something like lenevo mini pc or HP t740 as they provide the best upgradibility,are more powerful,and can be configured for homelab use if u later want to use something else for Ur router (n100 mini PC's are great as well but aren't as Powerful and upgradable) + a bunch of APs

I've recently got connection of Airtel AirFiber. I live in a 1500sqft 2 storied house where I've kept airtel router on first floor centre area. Airtel router is wifi6 so mobile devices and laptop have no problems but on ground floor, I'm trying to connect my CCTV NVR via LAN to my D-Link DIR-819 router (configured it as repeater). The issue is that the D-Link repeater is not able to get the signal from Airtel router even though mobile devices work fine in same place. That maybe due the the D-Link router being very old. What should I do to get my CCTV online? My Airtel router is enough for my need in house. I just need to provide internet via LAN to my CCTV NVR.
