Sayl Task Chair

Hi everyone who is looking for a good chair. :) I would like to share my and my wife's experience in an interesting and long search. First of all, I work on a computer in the gaming industry for a minimum of 8 hours, 48+ per week. I am 190 cm tall and weigh 90 kg (of course, after the holidays, in my stomach), but generally have a thinner build. My wife, who is a programmer, sits for a lot fewer hours; she is 175 cm tall and weights around 85 kg. So I think it would be more relevant that with that information you could additionally make a decision on which chair would suit you. FIRST AND MOST IMPORTANT THING: YOU MUST TRY ALL CHAIRS PERSONALLY FOR AT LEAST 15-20 MINUTES ON EACH ONE!!!!!!!! Adjust according to your build and then make a decision; don't order or take it blindly. There is a high chance that you will make a mistake. In short, I first sat on a wooden kitchen chair for 3 years, then on a gaming chair, and, of course, ordered free lumbar pain and bad sitting lessons. After almost 6 years of doing this job, I decided to invest in a chair, in addition to exercising. In Novi Sad, of all possible models, we tested the Herman Miller Sayl, Aeron, Mirra 2, and Embody. When I sat on the Sayl, it seemed like it was too small for me and too heavy. The Aeron was not small, but it was too rough for me. The Embody had a subtle feeling like a cloud but was somehow light. While the Mirra 2 was the golden mean for what I was looking for. While my wife, when she tried the Sayl, couldn't get out of it. When she tried the others, she wasn't as comfortable as this one. Last week we went to Zmajeva 12V in Belgrade and tried out the Gesture, Leap V2, and Please V2 chairs from Steelcase. In my experience, the Leap V2 is the most comfortable. Please has the best back support and is also comfortable, but the Gesture is multifunctional. The headrest is perhaps the best on the market, and the armrest is phenomenal; it somehow hugs you, and it is a little harder than these two, but that is more from the anatomical side, which is good for my lumbar area, which I have had a problem with for a long time. It makes me sit properly, and it feels good because it holds me sooooo well; you don't lean back too much in it in any position. It may be a problem for some, but as I said, it's best to try it. My wife's experience has shown that the Please chair, for her build and weight, was ideal. I think that this please, Steelcase, has neither advertising nor mention, but if you tried it, you would be thrilled. For her, the Gesture was tall and stiff, but the headrest was phenomenal, while the Leap was extra comfortable, but she didn't like the headrest at all. So, I hope I didn't overdo it, that I could at least help people with their choices. And of course, each according to their own abilities. But my wife and I have always been favorites for good used things rather than new ones. Best regards.

Same here! I'm 5'0 and nothing fits LOL. I bought a Herman Miller Sayl chair with adjustable everything and it's wonderful, but of course if my feet touch the ground the table/desk is too tall 😆 So I use a footrest so I can reach the table properly

Can't go wrong with Herman Miller. They even have gaming specific chairs partnered with Logitech because the market was there for it. But the prices are astronomical when you buy them brand new. $1000-2500 range especially with the adjustable add ons. If you go to an office liquidation place, they will likely have similar chairs like the Aeron for under $500-600 used. It's an extremely high quality product compared to the typical Staples level chair. Plus you can buy cheap replacement parts for them online from other people who part them out on eBay, instead of buying a whole new chair when something goes wrong. Check on Facebook Marketplace for Aeron models. There will likely be some sort of liquidators showing up in your results with various models fully loaded well under $600. There are headrests available for the Aeron.

Dude… you’re in Berlin.. that’s a big market for used chairs. Just give yourself some time to consistently check fb marketplace and things like ebay kleinanzeigen and you will find one for cheaper. If you need it asap, than 300€ is absolute maximum you should pay for a used base model. Also, try to find one with the upgraded arm rests. The basic ones are quite narrow. I bought my last Sayl for 30€. The one before that was 43€. The key is to find a seller who doesn’t know what it is. So don’t just search for the term herman miller sayl. Check the terms burostuhl, burosessel, drehstuhl. Why the hell do you guys have so many names for one thing anyway? It complicates the search lol.
