officechairs “In search of a desk chair”

I’m interested in buying the #1 recommended chair on Reddit… the Herman Miller Aeron. I just don’t quite understand how the price of the same chair, same size, and apparently same build is about half (or even less) on Amaz*n compared to the official website. The seller on Amaz*n appears to be the official Herman Miller brand, so I have no idea why it’s so much cheaper there. I’m also considering buying one from FB Marketplace, but there are so many people selling them that I’m a little worried some might be fake. Any advice on what to look for on FB Marketplace to make sure I get a genuine one? Should I go with the Amaz*n pricing? What do y’all think? Note: typing Amaz*n that way was the only option to make a post. Reddit thought I was putting an Amaz*n link of some sort ?? 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

1) No 2) Work. fully remote worker and will be used daily for hours upon hours 3) Back issues and sciatica. I need an upgrade 4) US I used to have a Herman Miller Aeron when I was in the office pre-COVID. I then got an office chair from Amazon that I have been using ever since and cannot ever seem to luck out on finding a great deal off Marketplace or anywhere else so I stubbornly waiting until then while sitting on a $150 desk chair that I desperately need to upgrade. Thanks for considering me.

I don't fly a lot, but I do travel for work and spend 130-150 nights a year in a hotel. (Writing this from a hotel bed) I have been using a cheap Amazon basics soft side carry-on since October of 2019. The thing is still good as new. No broken wheels or zippers, all the stitching is good, and the telescoping handle works just like it did new. I know you're looking for a hard shell check bag, but the lesson here is you don't need to spend money for bifl luggage. Very very few people do anyway. Find a cheap bag that has the features you want, and you'll have your luggage for years to come.
