So not strictly speaking my first as I bought a RK S98 and returned it immediately when I realised I needed a 100% and read reports of the kludge failing after 6 months. Picked up the Q6 via Amazon to ensure I had full warranty and returns policy. £50 under rrp seemed a good price. Needed silent tactile switches as my setup is in the lounge and I don't want a divorce. Whales seemed a good choice. Didn't like the OSA keycaps so ordered Keychron cherry profile pbt. I'm pretty happy with the colour scheme and they seem quality enough. Would have got something a bit more premium but finding ISO UK keycaps is a bit of a nightmare without spending a small fortune on GMK. Knew nothing about keyboards a month ago. How did I do? What should I have done better? And now I'm addicted, what should I buy next??

buildapc “Do mechanical keyboards really make a big difference for everyday gaming?”

I game exclusively on a $10 POS Logitech off Amazon and am just as bad of a player as I would be on a mechanical keyboard. Plus it's quieter and let's me buy 2-3 extra games with the savings.

Try looking at the Keychron K6 or the Royal Kludge RK61. They’re both 75% layout and usually have wireless options Magnetic switches are tough to find in that price range, but these keyboards can still handle gaming pretty well. Also, check out keyboardyeti for tips on what to look for in a gaming keyboard. they might have some comparisons that could help you out.

You are asking for a lot for a relatively small amount of money approx £700 for which you also want an UPS. If you can get one then a RK Royal Kludge switch keyboards are fairly cheap and work well. I have had a RK918 which is a full size keyboard with brown key switches which is pretty decent for what it cost me approx £45. It's wired so no battery issues and it's pretty decent to type on. For an UPS I would look for one which has inexpensive battery replacements because they can be expensive. My APC UPS cost around £80 for unofficial third party batteries and around £140 for APC replacement parts.
