**Disclaimer:** MCAPS were sent to me for review, but this post reflects my genuine experience and personal opinions after a week of daily use. No one reviewed or approved this write-up before posting. I've been using the MCAPS Aluminum Keycaps for about a week now, and I think I've spent enough time with them to share some thoughts beyond the initial "metal keycaps are cool" reaction. The biggest thing you'll notice immediately is the feel. Compared to PBT and ABS, aluminum keycaps have a much more solid, dense feeling under your fingertips. They're also noticeably cooler to the touch, which is something I ended up liking more than I expected. As for the sound, they definitely change the character of the board. On my setup, the keycaps added a subtle metallic resonance and made keypresses sound more defined. It's not an overwhelming "pingy" sound like some people might expect, but there is a distinct metal signature. Whether that's a positive or negative depends entirely on what you're looking for. If you're chasing the deepest marble-like thock possible, these probably aren't for you. If you want something unique that stands out from the sea of PBT sets, they're worth considering. Build quality has been excellent so far. The finish feels smooth and consistent, legends are clean, and after daily use I haven't noticed any wear or issues with the coating. The keycaps also fit securely on the switches with no stem-related concerns during my testing. One thing I was curious about before trying them was the weight. Yes, they're heavier than standard keycaps, but in actual use I stopped noticing it after a day or two. It didn't negatively affect typing or gaming for me. Since these are aluminum keycaps, I was also curious about potential Hall Effect compatibility issues. My testing was done on a Wooting 60HE v2 with Cullinan switches, and I experienced no interference, calibration issues, or abnormal behavior. Everything performed exactly as expected throughout the week. For gaming, everything felt normal. No issues with responsiveness or comfort during longer sessions. The Cherry profile keeps the typing experience familiar, so there's not much adjustment period if you're coming from traditional Cherry-profile keycaps. Pros Premium look and feel Cool-to-the-touch aluminum surface Unique sound profile Clean legends and solid finish No Hall Effect interference in my testing on a Wooting 60HE v2 Surprisingly affordable for aluminum keycaps Cons Metal acoustics won't appeal to everyone Less versatile than a good PBT set if you're constantly changing boards Fingerprints can be more noticeable depending on lighting and colorway Final Thoughts After a week, I don't think MCAPS are trying to replace my favorite PBT sets. Instead, they offer a completely different experience. The sound, feel, and overall presentation make them stand out in a market where most keycaps feel very similar. If you've been curious about aluminum keycaps but couldn't justify the price of traditional CNC sets, I think MCAPS are a pretty easy recommendation. The fact that they worked flawlessly on my Wooting 60HE v2 with Cullinan switches is another nice bonus for anyone running a Hall Effect setup. Not for everyone, but definitely one of the more interesting keycap sets I've used this year.

I’m looking to upgrade my gaming keyboard and wanted to get some real-world opinions from people who have tried different options to find the best. I mainly play FPS games and some MOBAs, but I also do a lot of typing, so I’m trying to find something that offers great gaming performance without sacrificing comfort or typing feel. I’m open to mechanical, optical, or magnetic switches, as well as full-size, TKL, or smaller layouts, and I don’t mind whether it’s wired or wireless. Budget isn’t fixed—if it’s genuinely worth the price, I’m willing to spend more. ***Some keyboards on my radar are:*** * ***Wooting 80HE*** * ***Razer Huntsman V3 Pro*** * ***Keychron*** * ***Logitech pro*** So what's the best gaming keyboard you currently using? First, I also recommend looking at Keychron for people looking to start in nicer keyboards. They’re not the end game but they are easily in that “good enough” space for most people. Wired would technically be better for gaming but it doesn’t make that much of a difference unless you’re ultra competitive. Like making money off it. My favorite layout is a TKL. It’s basically the same as a full size with the 10 key chopped off. I prefer that over anything smaller as I don’t like the nested arrow keys. Check out Hipyo Techs videos. He has tons of reviews on keyboards from the cheapest budget boards to the ones so expensive no one ever buy them lol. Good luck. This rabbit hole goes deep. Hi, im looking for a TKL or 75% board mainly for gaming, I mainly play cs2 and some osu, the wooting 80he looks great but a bit too pricey for me, sub 150 would be great, any suggestions? and hall effect/rapid trigger is preferred, thank you!
