Pro Whey Protein

Love that Amul is now getting full fledged in this category and have upped their production. I won't be surprised if other brands now get blown out of market. Other brands better adapt but I know they will blame customers and play stupid games like clean protein and whatever. Taste is not too sweet and is subtle. Flavor profile is really original and not artificial at all. My only thought is this is not a "fast absorption whey protein" and instead they may be using hung curd for protein content. I have no problem as this kind of protein is less processed and have good vitamin + gut healthy bacteria. Whey is powder and is pure protein and is good for those who train really hard and need a lot of protein quickly. Basically, I am not going to order any other brand protein from now. This Amul shake was not too sweet. I hated Avvatar Kulfi and Nakpro chocolate due to extreme sweet taste. Litrally need to add whole fat milk and salt in those to make them drinkable. Now taste is subjective but please guys don't get used to too sweet things. ## **Review After First Try** ### **Taste (Sweetness)** Far less sweet than any other flavored protein powder I've tried. No artificial aftertaste at all. I've tried MyProtein, ON, Avatar, MuscleBlaze, Nakpro. Amul (tried first time today) is only **30% as sweet** as the others. MyProtein and Nakpro were *too* sweet! --- ### **Taste (Flavor)** Very natural blueberry flavor. I eat blueberries regularly, so I know what natural blueberry tastes like. Not overpowering — subtle, easy to drink daily without getting bored. Avatar Kulfi flavor was horrible and overly sweet. Could only drink it with whole milk and added salt to reduce the overpowering sweetness. Same with Nakpro Chocolate. --- ### **Thickness** It's thick — like blending a banana in 200 ml milk. Not *too* thick, but they should add a bit less xanthan gum, especially in cold weather since it thickens more. Still drinkable. --- ### **Suggestions** I added **200 ml cow milk** to the **200 ml protein shake**. Perfect consistency and even less sweetness (my preference — I dislike overly sweet things). **So: 200 ml shake + 200 ml Amul cow milk = 👍** --- ### **Cost** - Protein shake = **₹50** - Milk (Amul tetra pack) = **₹16** --- ### **Calories & Macros** **Protein Shake:** - Protein: 20 g - Carbs: 19.9 g - Calories: 138 **Milk:** - Protein: 6 g - Carbs: 4.7 g - Fat: 3.5 g - Calories: 124 --- ### **Total (Shake + Milk)** - **262 calories** - **26 g protein** - **24 g carbs** - **Cost: ₹66**

Not an expert reviewer but here’s my take. For reference to my experience, I have tried Optimum Nutrition, Nakpro, and Amul whey in the past. I put 2 scoops in the shaker with 200 ml water. After 100 ml more to rinse the shaker and take out rest of the protein. Total 300 ml in 2 scoops. Packaging - amazing presentation! Best so far. They add some extra stuff to the box which is a nice touch. I think they even added a braille paper with nutritional info for blind people. The depth of thinking they have put into this is very rare to see. 10/0 —- Zipper - Nakpro sucked big time when it comes to the zipper quality. This one has a very smooth, high quality zipper that’s easy to close. Finally a protein that came in large packet that I won’t consider transferring to a plastic box. 10/10 —- Filtration - Amul gave me a lifelong OCD where I need to filter every protein after mixing with water because Amul whey had thick 1cm long paneer like chunks that were not protein. Definitely due to bad filtering process. This one was very clear as you can see the strainer in second image. 10/10 —- Mixability - Mixed really well. No lumps left. In 20 seconds or less it was very smooth with very less froth and totally drinkable. Amul users know the froth issue. Not with this. 10/10 —- Taste - okay so it’s always a controversial take. I hated the taste. It was very chemically, and left a bitter aftertaste in mouth. I understand it could be due to stevia but it is what it is. Hated the taste, maybe it’s as worse as ON Double Rich Chocolate. Even Amul tastes better, ngl. 6/10 —- Digestability - one scoop in water, nothing else. Digested well. No bloating or discomfort of any kind. 10/10 —- Value for money - one of the best value for money proteins out there. Even Nakpro is getting expensive these days. 9/10 —- Overall, 9.3/10 for me after first try. If my experience changes after a couple of days, I’ll update for sure. But so far, definitely want to buy again. Just need to figure out how to make it taste drinkable. ***I don’t need it to be tasty, I just need it to not taste bad.*** I hope you get my point because now people will say in comments “bro taste ke liye protein kon peeta hai?” 🫩

in 7 11 stores, there they have shakes that have 30 to 40 grams of protein. so amul shakes seem a waste of your space in your luggage they pretty wide variety of flavours , you should try those out. macros are crazy good. 160 to 180 calories for 40 gm of protein and there are lactose free. your protein needs will be more easily fulfilled through them.

Quick PSA. Bought Amul Whey thinking it's Amul, Desh ka brand hai. Doesn't mix. Clumps no matter what, shaker, spoon, blender bottle with spring, all the same. Half the powder ends up stuck to the bottom. The taste is chalky with a weird bitter aftertaste. Just not pleasant. Main issue though - every time I have it I get loose motion in the morning. I'm not lactose intolerant, I have milk, dahi, paneer regularly with zero issues, and other whey brands have always been fine. Specifically this one. Had ASITIS protein whey once and it's the same fucking thing. Not worth 2000 would rather drink sattu. Not worth it. Spend a bit more and get something that actually works. FYI: I have tried ON, MY PROTEIN, MUSCLE BLAZE, TWT these whey brands are mostly on discount and never ever had this issue. This time I wanted to try amul and it is shit. Only with ASITIS and Amul.
