I thinking about selling my sony fdr ax100 and buying Fujifilm xt 30 is it worth it?

I want to make YouTube videos and do vlogging and documentaries. I already have a Sony FDR-AX53 "4K" camera (though I can only record in 1080p) which works fine in static scenes. I want to upgrade because the dynamic range is really bad on my camera. I wanted to upgrade to another camera that would give me more control over the image and learn more about video production. I found used ones for around 400CHF (\~$500). Is it a good starter camera or should I consider something else? I have a beautiful Sony X3000 action cam but the sound is dreadful, even when using an external microphone, nothing close to professional quality. I was going to try plugging the stereo lav mic into an Olympus LS P1 sound recorder, but of course the sound is going to be unsynchronised. I'm looking for tips on how best to do this. I will try and synchronise clocks on both devices and make sure that sound recording starts and stops when video does (so it should be obvious which audio and video files belong together). But of course they're not going to synchronise entirely. Do I really need to clap hands in front of the camera? I've heard that it's possible to overlay good sound on top of the muffled action cam sound by lining up the waveforms on a film editor. I have never tried anything like this before. Don't laugh but my main Windows film editor at the moment is Animotica (full version). I'm planning to upgrade to Resolve (free version, if that's any good) in the near future. Like I say, I have no experience of editing soundtracks, beyond putting music on Tiktoks and Youtube Shorts (and making sure the best bits of the tune go on the video).
