negativegarmin “VO2Max Crash”This happened to me. Over. 12 month period. It turned out to be my Garmin heart rate strap. I got a new one and now it’s coming back up. It was reading my HR high.

neutralsmartwatch “Help me pick a cheap smartwatch that's not cheap”I recently got a second hand withings scan watch 1 and it's been great. I had a Fenix 7 and got sick of charging it every week, and I rarely used most of the features. All I wanted was a decent looking watch, with sleep/HR and the ability, like you, to ping me when my phone is calling/messaging The scan watch does that and the battery lasts about 30 days. as far as my checklist goes its tick, tick, tick (pun intended).

neutralsmartwatch “Need advice for a gift: replace a 4 or 5 yo Withings smart watch”I offered my wife a Withings smart watch a few years ago. I chose this brand because it looked "low tech" which fits her well. Now she has started having issues with it: it loses synchronization a lot, needles tend to stop and it takes a while to resync... She has to recalibrate it sometimes, it's time for a change. What would you advise for a person who likes a sober but stylish watch, doesn't want to care about recharging (a 7 days battery life should be okay but I would go for less), and doesn't want to have to configure anything anytime. Budget < 300€ ideally... That's a lot of constraints I believe but maybe some last year's models can match the need? The Galaxy-like ones might be too "techy" for her I think. Maybe the new ScanWatch from Withings is more reliable than her old model?

neutralgalaxywatch “Best utility for sleep/health tracking?”Samsung Health works decently, but Welltory takes it up a notch. Note that you may need an app like Health Sync or similar to integrate some metrics (data from Withings scale for example).

positiveapplewatchfitness “Best Apple Watch Health Tracking Apps in 2026?”I use AutoSleep for my sleep tracking (it’s proven more accurate than even the updated Apple Watch sleep metrics, and the ability to manually edit is priceless). I use Bevel for nearly everything else. A properly prompted and trained AI has made this a vastly superior and useful fitness and health assistant for me. (The default AI is fine now, but prompted and trained, it’s a game-changer. It’s not perfect, but it’s working really well for me nearly all the time, and is well worth the subscription cost that is basically just for the AI now.) And if you’re finding the charts aren’t getting at the metrics you need, the AI can bridge the gap if the data is there. I use MacroFactor to get a customized, accurate TDEE, and it seems to be working well so far (I’m only a month or two into that). I’m on the fence about the value, since the monthly cost is on the high side. If it works well for me, I’ll probably extend my subscription to make it more cost effective. I’m still tracking food in MyFitnessPal, simply because the database is more complete. It also has years’ worth of weight and body fat measurements for me (mostly pulled from Withings, though I don’t use their app for anything other than daily weight and body composition comparisons). When the food databases for Bevel or MacroFactor are up to snuff, I’ll probably move food tracking to one of those. As it stands, I change my nutrition targets in MFP and Bevel based on MacroFactor’s recommendations. I didn’t find Athlytic’s recovery and other metrics to be accurate for me. That’s probably a thing that will vary between people. I prefer the Bevel fitness templates and watch integration to either MacroFactor Workouts or Hevy. They’re still tweaking this, and I’m eager to see what’s coming. I found Bevel’s stress section more useful and accurate than StressWatch.
