neutralgarmin “Garmin thinks I'm capable of a WR”Finished my run today, decide to check the race predictor after because Garmin says I've been productive lately. Apparently I can go crush any world record of my choosing right now. Update: Unfortunately I must have missed my WR window, woke up today and Garmin now says I'm only capable of a 17:40 5k or a 2:57:49 marathon. Very upsetting that I lost so much fitness overnight, my professional running dreams are now crushed. Update again: Came back from my run today and its back to nearly these same crazy predictions, so guess my WR dreams are back on! Also all the data on this one looks normal, HR is what is almost always is, I have not messed with the zones or any settings like that. None of the runs triggering this have been crazy, just easy pace 7 and 8 mile runs. Something definitely messed up on Garmin's end and glad I'm not the only one with this issue based on some of the comments here.

neutralgarmin “Strava vs Garmin - a Peacefull protest”Garmin have not asked for a ‘watermark’ or any compulsory use of their logo, despite what the clowns at Strava have said. Their revised API Brand Guidelines, issued in July 2025, requires that users of data acquired from Garmin sources acknowledge that and gives examples of how that can be done. No brand or trademarks required. Note that this is exactly what Strava demanded from all its API users this time last year, and is what forced Trailforks to delete 60 million activities. Note also that Garmin gave its API partners 5 months to comply. Strava gave 30 days.

neutralgarmin “Strava vs Garmin - a Peacefull protest”Mom and dad are fighting again, you guys think they're getting a divorce this time? 😔 I don't agree with the Strava position in not including the Garmin watermark, it's a simple and honestly the right thing to do, not just Garmin but all the other companies. Some are starting to cancel Strava subscriptions, I don't really have an opinion on that, to each its own. I decided to show my discontent and support for Garmin too but in a more "Peacefull" way and credit Garmin in my runs. Just wanted to put that out there, ignore the post if you don't care about this issue.
