    garmin “VO2Max Crash”
The VO2 Max calculator on a Garmin is just a sort of chart of pace vs heart rate and nothing else. It’s not a real measure of your VO2 Max. Clearly since it dropped since you added back your easy runs that is the reason it has changed. You increased the volume of running at slower paces your watch is using to estimate so it’s lowering it (at least that is my guess) My VO2 max went up to 54 two months ago and has slid back down to 51 despite me being more fit. I run 150 miles a month and have made significant gains in my threshold pace. When my V02 was “54” My watch estimated my threshold at 8:05/mile Now that it’s “51” it estimates a 7:20 threshold. If I’ve maintained my same volume but improved my threshold pace how can my VO2 have dropped? It’s just an estimate and I don’t really pay attention to it other than to see what it says. I don’t base anything off of it or consider either of those to be my threshold or my VO2 Back to you: Are you seeing a change in performance? Do you feel slower at the 5k distance? Trust your body and use the watch as a guide

garmin “Garmin Fr 165 vs Coros Pace 4, which watch to pick for my Triathlon training?”
I have recently started training for Triathlon, and want to pickup my first fitness watch, and I was confused b/w Pace 4 and Fr 165. (Or is Pace 3 more than enough for a beginner) My typical training week consists of \- 1 long road run, 1 long tradmill run \- 2-3 pool swim sessions \- 1 long bike ride \- 1 or 2 strength training I have used whoop 5.0, and I am pleased with a lot of stats it provides, I want to replace whoop, and get a watch for my triathlon training. A watch that gives better insights on training, sleep, recovery levels, suggested workouts, I don't need maps on my wrist, I know most of the places I run. And I carry my phone with me, so music support is also taken care of. Both come at the same price of $250

    garmin “VO2Max Crash”
I’ve been following Matt Fitzgeralds 80/20 marathon plan for about a month and my vo2 max numbers on garmin also plummeted. I’m glad you posted here and I could gain from the comments. I’m dedicated to following this plan through, even though garmin shows the drop my pace is already improving and my endurance definitely has. Glad I can relax and enjoy the running and not worry about the numbers right now, thanks

    fitbit “Suggestions for next watch?”
Coros pace (pro if you need better mapping). Fitbit just went downhill since Google is trying to integrate it, GPS signal is bad and sync to Strava doesn't work most of the time. My charge 5 died after just 2years. I went for Coros over Garmin because Garmin wants to charge you monthly for sleep data and other stuff. Coros doesn't.
