I sent my n70 back. The highs didn't sound so good for me. Iam back to my earfun ap4 now - But it's just a personal reference. OC for the price of 36 euro ( AliExpress) they're good. Would love to try the OnePlus buds 4 for comparison.

I recently tested Liberty 4 NC, 4 Pro, and 5 side by side in a very unplanned but extremely realistic scenario — my office next door has been under renovation for weeks. I've basically only owned the Jabra 75ts, loved them so much that I would just get the same earbuds again if anything went wrong. I very briefly used OnePlus Buds Pro 2, but the audio was just awful for my tastes. I still think the Jabras are fantastic, but after my latest pair started to fail, it was time to switch it up. So these Huawei buds are my first "premium" grade purchase. Here's some random things that have stuck out to me: **Cool stuff** * Crazy soundstage and frequency separation: instruments are separated to an almost distracting degree. I actually am hearing new details in songs I've heard hundreds of times, for better or worse lol. * The dual audio drivers are cool. I was playing Jay-Z's *Holy Grail* on one of my first tests and got a jumpscare from the bass when it kicks in after the intro. Basically even if you crank up the bass, it barely bleeds into other frequencies with this hardware. Normally I have to trade off muddy lows for big boom boom. * Fantastic audio quality when audio is mastered well. But it's also very sensitive to less perfect (or stylistic) panning and EQ. For example, *Californication* has never sounded worse to me, while the recent Beatles remasters are just exquisite. * "Find my earbuds" has already been useful, and I appreciate that it's per earbud. It just plays a loud sound, no fancy mapping like apple though, and no case support even though it has a speaker built in.  * "Spatial audio" being processed on the buds instead of the phone is nice. I turn it on in the phone app and choose an acoustics preset, then multipoint connect with my TV or PC when I want to simulate speakers without disturbing others in the house. * The case chimes when you open it (if you want). Such a silly and useless feature, but I like it. It's also weirdly customizable. Wish the other navigation/control sounds had as many options. * The audio no longer freaks out from RF interference, overall very stable connection. In addition, I can choose between connection quality, audio quality, and low latency mode, and it actually makes a noticeable difference. * Having multiple gesture types is great. Swipe for volume, tap to pause, squeeze for modes, etc. Much more intuitive imo. No overly sensitive touch controls either, which seems to be an issue with premium buds. It's not as customizable as reviews make it seem though, mostly just "on/off." * Making the case water resistant as well as the earbuds is pretty nifty. * Already been said in every review, but the mics really are fantastic. No more boosting every sound around you for the listener, they actually isolate your voice well, and even mask wind. * They are pretty light and comfortable. I mountain bike and jog with them and they stay put. **Nitpicks** * The guidance tones are fine, but they use a voice for awareness/ANC/off and it's just a bit slow and slightly off-putting, while also muting audio. Wish I could turn that off like the Jabras. * I like the texture and slim shape of the case, and the hidden latch, but setting the earbuds in is a bit clunky. Both the Jabras and OnePlus had satisfying magnetic clicks, and the earbuds just kind of fell into place when I tossed them in. These require some fiddling each time, mainly because the stems are rotated away from you. * No sleep timer like the Jabras, at least not in the Android app. They charge fast enough, but it's a little annoying waking up with dead batteries. * I swear there's some sort of ear fit EQ compensation going on that nobody talks about. Sometimes songs will start to sound way too boomy, or muddy mids, then reset when I pull them out and reseat them. They already are doing live fit compensation for noise cancellation, and give little warning in the app if there's a poor fit, so it's technically possible... The audio change I experience sounds more like a forced EQ glitch then just a poor seal.

I wasn't impressed by the sound of the Air 4 Pro+, coming from exclusively using the Sennheiser HD598 with oratory1990's neutral EQ. Using pink noise to locate treble peaks by ear, I was able to use [the unofficially supported parametric EQ](https://www.reddit.com/r/Earbuds/comments/1or8o9c/parametric_eq_for_earfun_air_pro_4/) to fix those peaks and adjust the bass. That made them sound substantially better, and I'm happy with the sound now for 70€. Parametric EQ and LE Audio support are killer features for me, but probably not for most people, so idk if I can generally recommend them. Also the ANC is underwhelming and changes the frequency response way too much. Curious what you think of the sound after using parametric EQ to fix the frequency response, if you want to give that a shot.
