INITIAL IMPRESSIONS: How good a comeback can be!?... A brand once ruled the budget segment is nowhere past covid. Starting from the OG T2, I’m a big fan of Tin HiFi brand because of their excellent sonic output throughout their range. T3 Plus was my favourite out of their catalogue that showcased a dynamic sound output. A 3D Printed semi-custom in ear designed resin shell with subtle gold lettered branding in a smooth finish gives this IEM the premium feel. It’s one of the most comfortable, if not the best in terms of fit in its segment. C3 MKII is the successor to their previous iteration OG C3 and now this got even more improved. The Harman sound curve with an elevated sub bass and upper mid-section gives the C3 MKII the enough attention! Accompanied with that smooth and natural tonality even being an older product, this is one of my top preferences under 50 USD! Full review coming soon! An underrated gem...

If you want a cheap but decent cable, go for the TRN T2 Pro (0.75 connection and you can choose the termination or 3 interchangeable ones). It comes in black like the color of the Diablo. If you want something with better quality, go for the Tripowin Ambar (2-pin connection with interchangeable terminations). It comes in brown like the original cable.

I’d look at the new kid from Tin hifi the t6, currently on special for $89.00 on Amazon. It’s a fully equipped Iem and comes with three tuning nozzles and extra filters so you can play with the sound a bit! I love my hexas but this set might finally give them a bit of a run for the money

iems “Is it smarter to get multiple budget IEMs or invest in one good mid-range set?”
Yeah exactly, and that’s where I wouldn’t buy a ton of them since so many of these budget IEMs are all the same tuning with extremely minor differences. To each their own, but I’ll never understand the people that stockpile every single $20-$50ish single DD or whatever, they’re largely all the same thing in a different shell. I’d say better build is a good way to go about it - worst case, just pick whichever one of the bunch has the most attractive price or accessories and then from there either upgrade down the line if you want, or sidestep into a different tuning based on what you like and don’t like about that typical Harman tune. For example, in my case I’m not a huge fan of having the pinna gain quite as high as it is in Harman, so that was a quick and easy learning on my end when I was early into exploring IEMs (with the Tin Hifi T3 Plus in my case).

iems “What IEMs (under $100) would be best for instrumental music like Nujabes?”
I have been using the tin hifi T2 for years now and I love how the samurai champloo sound track sound with them. It’s a nice warm tone and the bass is smooth. If anything get the T2 DLC, it’s supposedly better than the OG T2.
