iems “Which IEM brand has the most satisfying unboxing experience?”
Twistura Woodnote - 4 rows of eartips (that's a LOT, ie 4 X 3) , 3 nozzles, sleek packaging Timeless 2 - a crapton of eartips, tons of nozzles, nice looking box Letshouer Cadenza 4 = the box was set up like a drawer and the eartips had nice lettering next to them. It looked nice. Xuan NV = was impressive because the boxart was awesome and the included eartips were great Dunu Kima 2 = tons of awesome eartips, ie Dunu candy, Dunu S&S, a nice cable and some waifu art. I recommend getting the Raven version. It's the same iem but just different boxart. Misty Blue = pretty box, pretty box inside, very elegant setup Studio 4 = I liked the little Pelican box inside. Still have that. The outside was literally a cardboard box. but that cute little Pelican box was awesome. Truthear Pure = waifu art and the best cable on the planet! I love that cable yu9 Que = Nice looking box, nice accessories, had an Apple-ish presentation to it Sony IER M7 and Sony IER M9 = nice looking accessories and a ton of eartips. Felt very premium. Shure SE846 = tons of eartips, nice layout, even the contraption to swap filters was impressive.

iems “Unsure whether to buy IEMs anymore.”
Yeah idk maybe don't buy the cheap $20 IEMs expecting something of high quality. My Shure SE846 lasted me over a decade of heavy use. My Thieaudio Monarch MKIII still perfect after a couple years now.

Ie200 Pandamon 2.0 Celest Aful Explorer Cadenza 4 Truthear Hola Kiwi Ears Cadenza is comfy. But I find it makes vocals sound too thin :S Meze Alba is comfy. But I don't like the sound :S Etymotic ER2XR WITH Final Audio E red adapter + Final audio e tips. This simple change brings the comfort from -10 to a very comfy set. This was my EDC for like 3 years. Thieoaudio Legacy 2 (this is the ONLY Thieoaudio IEM I can tolerate in terms of comfort. The rest of their stuff is too big) Airpods pro Soundmagic E10 (used to use this for like 7 years, not joking) Chu2 is comfy. But I don't like its sound. :S \--------------------------- These cost a bit more but are tiny and comfy ================================ Westone Mach 60s DT 70IE Shure Se846

Most will disagree with me but a I go with Shure iems I had the se215 for years and last year I got se846 and they are the most comfortable to me over any chi fi (kz’s) but sennheisers and other professional brands tend to make in the same fit as shure. People will say shure is old tech and over priced but I also run them multiple times a week for live music not for daily listening. Shures are comfortable and built to last.

iems “What’s the price range where IEMs hit “peak value”? After what point is spending more basically pointless?”
The first ever IEMs I bought were the Shure Se535. They sounded amazing to me at the time. They broke after about 2-3 years. Then bought the Shure Se846. Which were way more expensive albeit didn’t sound as good to me as the 535’s. Next set: Dunu SA6 Ultra Dunu Vulkan Listen to these a lot and both were much better than the Shure sets. Recently I purchase the. Punch Audio Martilo and the Dunu Glacier. Everything sounds like ass next to the Glacier. But had I not heard it, I am very happy with the martilo for Rap/ Hip hop and the SA6 ultra for rock, Indie, EDM. Both around the $500 USD mark.
