IE 500 PRO

Hey everyone, I recently bought the **Truthear Hexa**, and while I really liked the **detail and wide stage**, I couldn’t listen for more than 30 minutes. The **highs felt too sharp** and the **upper mids were quite forward**, which made vocals sound a little too upfront while the background instruments sat too far back. It started feeling a bit **digital and fatiguing** over time. For reference, I usually listen on the **Sennheiser HD 600**, which I love for its **natural tone, smooth treble, and balanced mids**. I was hoping to find an IEM that captures some of that character, something **natural, non-fatiguing, and well balanced**, with good layering and realistic mids. I’d appreciate suggestions for options around the **same price as the Hexa**. I mostly listen to **alternative music, instrumentals, and both Western and Indian classical**. Would love to hear what others who found the Hexa too sharp ended up liking instead. Thanks!

First off I’m by no means an audio file. I’m just a dude that loves listening to music. So 2 weeks ago I bought an ibasso dx180 to cut my ties with streaming and go back to my good old “mp3” days. With the ibasso I picked up some SENNHEISER Professional IE 100 PRO and started jamming. These seemed like the sound was good and felt good like I’m iPod pro 3s ( only point of reference I have had). But after being on this sub I figured might as well try something more high end as I figured the sound had to be way better. So after some of my own research and getting a feel for what I wanted based on the music I listened to I got some FATfreq Scarlet Mini. And here is where I’m lost but listening to the same tracks on the same player on the same dap I could not hear any major difference, but the price difference was substantial ( $95 vs $799 with upgraded cable). So what am I missing or is my hearing just jacked that I can’t tell the noticeable difference? I’m in process of returning the FATfreq, and guessing I should just stick with the $95 IEM’s since I clearly can’t hear a significant difference? Not trying to troll by any means, just wondering if this is just a me problem or do you have to be a serious audiophile to notice the difference between my two choices?

Hi everyone, I’m a student working part-time and I’m finally ready to upgrade. My "best" headphones so far have been Sony XM4s, but I want to move into the high-end/audiophile world for a truly "mind-blowing" music experience. I dont mind open or closed back Budget: Around £200 (UK based). Source: MacBook M1 Pro 16-inch (primary) and a Windows PC (secondary). I know the Mac has a high-power jack, so I'm hoping to use that to its full potential. Music Genres: Very broad. I listen to a lot of Hip-Hop, Techno, Rock (Little Simz is a favorite), but I also love Jazz, Metal, hardstyle, and Indie. Usage: I spend 4–5 hours straight at my desk in the evening. Comfort is a huge priority. I also do some light gaming, but music quality is 90% of the priority here. Past Experiences: I recently tested the Sennheiser HD 660S2 and absolutely loved the sound, but they are way out of my budget right now. My Dilemma: \* I was looking at the HiFiMAN Edition XS because the sound sounds "astonishing," but the QC issues and "dead driver" reviews on Amazon have me really worried about spending 1/3 of my monthly pay on something that might break. I've also looked at the FiiO FT1/FT1 Pro, but I'm seeing similar mixed reviews about build quality and customer service. I’m considering the Beyerdynamic DT 900 Pro X (for reliability/comfort) or the Sennheiser HD 620S (since I liked the 660S2), but I'm not sure if they will give me that "mind-blown" feeling I'm looking for compared to my XM4s. What I'm looking for: Something that feels high-end, has great detail, and can handle the bass needs of Techno/Phonk without sacrificing the clarity needed for Rock and Jazz. Are there any "hidden gems" or solid recommendations that have the reliability I need for a daily driver? Thanks!

Recently, I've received my long-awaited Supermix 4! I've had 3 pairs of IEMS before, including: Moondrop Aria's 2 (My unit had terrible qc, so I returned them), Moondrop Chu 2 (I gifted them to my girlfriend on Valentine's Day, and have tried them), and last but not least Simgot Supermix 4! (Also, i have tried some other IEMS in the shop: Sennheiser i200, all of the IEMs of Finals brand, Ibasso Cookie ti). Let'sss go! Pros and Cons list: Pros: * They **look** premium\*\*,\*\* you can see hole in the faceplate. It functions as a vent to relieve pressure in your ears. * Simgot used a few ear models to create this design. So far, they are the best fit in my ear. * Subbass is punchy, fast, and tactile. They don't interfere with music, but add some spice to it. * They have good detail retrieval, and it's not fatiguing. * Good soundstage and sound-imaging. Cons: I will tell you something that other people haven't. * On touch, I feel like faceplate will unglue and drop at any given moment. * Lack of midbass is **sometimes** noticeable. * Vocals, contrary to other people opinion, felt unnatural and "boring". * Aria's 2 felt **much more** premium when you touched them or held in hands. Hey IEM-Pro´s, I’m a singer and guitarist, and I’m looking for some guidance on IEMs. Please bear with me here, as this is my first Post and English is not my native tongue. Anything to make me a better Redditor is also welcome ;-) I previously tried the CCA C12 5BA 1DD but had to return them because the cable had a really bad smell, like I got a headache after 5 Minutes bad. After that I tried the Sennheiser IE 100 Pro Black thinking Sennheiser’s build would be better. They were okay smell-wise but the sound just was very flat and pinchy in my ears. Also the overall Fit was very bad. What I look for: \- Comfortable fit \- Transparent Sound so I can identify single instruments and not only a bunch of mushy noise \- normal smell or smell that will evaporate in 2-3 Days \- Bit of isolation as I play with a Metal Drummer and his acoustic set Budget would be from 50-150$ Thank you so much in advance guys!
