iems “I NEED HELP”

Hey everyone, I'm currently looking to upgrade my audio setup specifically for competitive FPS gaming (mainly Valorant and CS2). I will be pairing the gear with a Moondrop Dawn Pro 2 DAC/Amp. My absolute priority is pinpoint imaging and vertical audio localization. I want something that tells me exactly where the enemy is instantly, without any guesswork, even during chaotic gunfights and explosions. I need a linear, well-separated sound signature where muddy bass won't mask crucial footsteps or reload cues. I am torn between two completely different routes: Audio-Technica ATH-R70x (Open-back headphone, which I would run with a 4.4mm balanced cable to get enough power from the Dawn Pro 2) Moondrop Blessing 3 (Hybrid IEM, known for its analytical and dry/laser-sharp presentation) For those who have tested both or use them for tactical shooters, which one gives that "wallhack-like" pinpoint accuracy to immediately snap onto targets based on sound alone? Does the spherical soundstage of the R70x win for verticality, or does the clinical separation of the Blessing 3 take the crown for raw competitive edge? Thanks in advance!

iems “Moondrop Blessing 3?”

Just getting into IEMS and the Moondrop Blessing 3s has really caught my eyes with how pretty and clean it looks. Are they worth it for the price? Just looking to use them for casual stuff like gaming, listening to music, etc. Any other IEMS recommendations would be appreciated! (preferably just as clean/ pretty looking too) THANKS!

headphones “after all those years, the survivors”

blessing 2 - age: 2 years chu - age: 4 years salnotes 0: age: 1 year fiio ff - age: 2 years these are the iems that remained, the rest either broke or were sold tube iems (blessing) are the best because they dont ever clog. even if they do, knowles tube filters are always available daily drove blessing for more than a year but then decided to use at home due to being chippable. salnotes is good enough anyway and if u put a foam tip on it bam super attenuation chu is there because metal tint is fun, and its a legacy piece. ff1 is ok without foam, but its the one i have used the least tbh. iems that broke: kz kzn (the first) - shell sealing gave in, leading to complete bass rolloff. nostalgia value:0/10. moondrop lan - was rained over, oxidated and driver died (my complete fault). it was good but bland. nostalgia value:0. quarks - bad fit for me since its ventless, sound ok. cable modded it, but since it was mmcx it ended up becoming a bit loose. i recommend 2pin for cable mods. nostalgia: value 1. iems that were sold: moondrop aria 1 (blue variant) - first iem that was good, i really do regret selling. sound was nice and cold metal was comfortable on the ear. nostalgia value: 10. etymotic er2se: insane sound, terrific design. a single knowles filter meant maximum durability over the years. just replace the filter and its good as it ever was. better than b2 in this department, since for that one e. wax can still get in the other tubes, in which case big F. Ended up selling because it was kinda a bother to wear. nostalgia value: 5. 7hz timeless - ultra detail and bass definition, but treble was too much. Was cool af to listen to though. dont regret selling, nostalgia value: 3. Moondrop SSR - I swear this IEM is insane. It was ultra detailed, sounds way too similar to blessing 2 (but no sub bass which b2 actually has). I would no problem use that and not complain never. but its finicky to wear and hard to get a good fit. no brainer for small ear people that like DF. Important to note that this model has seen huge unit variation on the magnitude of the pinna gain. dont regret selling, nostalgia value: 4. As of now im officially retired from this hobby. i also use an akg k702 which on paper is the over ear equivalent of b2, but in practice has a sound profile that is locally kinda different even if with similar treble / mid / bass proportions. never spent serious cash on the game but this doesnt mean i didnt have my chunk of fun!

iems “Looking for the best IEMs for competitive gaming (spatial accuracy, footsteps, all day wear, no budget)”

Hey everyone! I'm looking for some IEM recommendations optimized specifically for competitive gaming, specifically FPS titles where spatial awareness is critical. I care deeply about being able to pinpoint exactly where sounds are coming from, how far away they are, and picking up subtle audio cues like footsteps through environmental noise. This isn't a music-first purchase, but I'd still want something that sounds exceptional within those priorities. My requirements: 1. Primary use: gaming audio accuracy; best-in-class imaging, soundstage, and detail retrieval for positional cues 2. All-day wearability; comfort and fit are non-negotiable. I'll be wearing these for extended sessions 3. No budget constraints; recommend whatever is genuinely best for my use case, not what's "good value." 4. A longer cable preferred; I'm at a sit-stand desk and don't want to be tethered 5. DAC/amp: only recommend one if it meaningfully improves gaming audio performance as a standalone unit. If it requires a DAC to perform well for gaming specifically, I'd rather know upfront and consider a different IEM instead What would you recommend? Open to any shell type or driver configuration (DD, BA, tribrid, etc.) as long as it serves the use case. Appreciate any input from people who've actually used their IEMs for gaming seriously, not just music listening. From my own research, the Moondrop Blessing 3 (or Variations) and the THIEAUDIO Monarch MKII seem like they might fit what I'm after, though the Monarch is pushing it price-wise even for me. Are these on the right track, or am I missing something better?

Which means it'll be absolutely accurate with vertical and spatial awareness. Imo of this discussion realistically, blessing 3 would be better, but it's whether you want something in your ear or something over your head with the clamp force. Both in-ear and or clamp force can be helped with, really nice liquid silicon eartips, or if you choose a headphone that'll match your head and your clamp tolerance. Headphones that are often mentioned that are really nice with gaming would be, hd6xx, hd490pro. Lastly, you don't really need to spend much to get something that'll be linear and accurate for gaming with the Truthear hexa. The hexa (i have both) gets about 80 to 85% of the blessing 3. Iem's or audio won't make you better at games. Save your money, get the hexas(new or used) or hd6xx(used because it's discontinued but easy to find used), and practice your aiming and in-game awareness.
