neutraldigitalaudioplayer “Fiio M33 R2R: A short review and comparison with Fiio JM21”I got into IEMs and DAPs a short while ago. My DAP was a Hiby R1, followed by a Fiio JM21. My IEMs were Kiwi ears orchestra lite, and Softears RSV Mk II. I was very happy with my IEMs, their tuning was quite what I wanted - Warm, bassy, non fatiguing treble. But I was not getting the ‘voice in my head’ warmth with Fiio JM21. It sounded a bit sterile, if you know what I mean. I tried playing with the filters and the PEQ a bit, but was not satisfied. Maybe it was too perfect. I was looking to get my hands on something better, when I came across a video about Fiio M33 r2r in youtube. The Youtuber had a similar sound preference as mine, and he spent the whole video about how nostalgic he felt after getting the r2r and how it reminded about his analog audio days. Checked m33 r2r on Headphonezone India, and saw it was going to come back in stock soon, and the price was something palatable for me. The next r2r I could find was ibasso dx 270 r2r ultra which was quite a bit more. I was lucky to get my hands on it, as it went out of stock soon after it was listed for sale. And after spending a week, here are my impressions. **What I like:** * The sound. It’s just warm and lovely. I get the ‘vocal in my head feel’ and it sounds so different from the JM21. * It really is nostalgic. I had a Marantz PM6005 stereo amp which I used with bookshelf speakers and headphones, a decade ago. I feel this is as musical as that, you could spend hours listening to it and not get fatigued. * The screen is way nicer than JM21, and 8gb ram makes it snappier, and maybe a bit more future proof? Not that I had any issues with the responsiveness of JM21. * The sound again, I am excited to try a song for the first time in m33 and anticipate how it is gonna sound. Did not have that with any of the previous daps I owned. * The included leather case. Nice quality and feels very premium in hand. * Value for money. I have read that there are better r2r implementations. But this is good for me at this price. **What I did not like:** * The battery. I get 10 hours out of it with balanced output / low gain and Apple music streaming + offline flac, over a week. Slightly worser than JM21. * The size. It’s chunky, but I use it at home only. JM21 is way more portable. * The ports are on the top, I prefer them at the bottom. I can rotate the screen, but it messes up the side buttons config. Overall, I am pretty satisfied. This DAP and my Softears RSV Mk II will be my endgame combo for quite some time. Cheers, and thanks for reading!

positiveiems “I tried my first pair if IEMs and LOVED them. Now trying to decide if I should get an upgrade?”Recently as shown in the picture I got the KZ ZS12 pro 2 for gaming. I got tired of using my previous headset (Arctis 7) because they would make my ears hot and give me headaches after even just 1 hour of wearing them. For me, I was just looking for something comfortable and decided to try IEMs. I did absolutely no research at all and just got something convenient off amazon that would arrive quick to test it out. After about a week of use I knew I was never going back to headsets. This is so much more comfortable and the sound is amazing. I can hear the direction from where sounds come and everything sounds great. Almost to the point I don’t even know if there is any point to upgrade. They sound great and are comfortable, why switch? The only reasons I’m considering it is because 2 reasons. 1. I been seeing that it’s better to get one with the 3.5 audio jack and use a dac for better quality? I think that will fix the small issue I have with these that 5% windows volume is enough, they are super sensitive and sometimes I’m scared to accidentally blow my ears out. 2. Even though they sound great, I’m sure there are better sounding ones out there and I am curious as to how much better they can be. I was considering the IEMs on slide 2/3, specifically the kiwi ears orchestra. I don’t listen to that much music with headphones on, so I guess that’s not a priority. Would the AFUL explorers be just as good for gaming for half the price? Is there something in the orchestras that makes them twice as good as the explorers? Give me your thoughts thanks!

Even it is things like Orchestra 2 which is like the brand's flagship BA product can make u feel like ur unboxing something sub 100. Glad that ur enjoying Que, Yu9 actually makes a lot of great products that are selling in China now. Wish they can be more available worldwide soon.

positiveiems “What iem suits you guys the best?”Kiwi ears orchestra lite 1. Extreme clarity and smoothness 2. Everything a bit. For gaming - exceptional, I can understand where enemies in bf6. For music - clear and nice punchy (not rumbly) bass, but not strong 3. It has no wents, so you need get used to. It's big pair, on heavier side, but there is premium feel. After couple month I can use them all day 4. Big no-no, bc it's big and also I fear to break 2pin (like all resin shell, connector like floating) 5. It survives couple falls of the table, but I still have fear to break them 6. AFAIK it one of the best price to performance pair 7. For now I wish kiwi ears aether, mangird top pro and ziigaat arete 2. I liked a lot full ba on orchestra lite, but want little more bass
