neutraliems “First IEM around $300. looking for good soundstage and imaging.”Volume S's strength is much more its tuning rather than its technicalities, but it does a pretty good job in that department too. In the hybrid camp, I like the Dita Project M, BGVP NS10 Pro and the Nicehck NX8 SE. They pull their weight in soundstage and detail retrieval in that price range. I never listened to the Kiwi Ears Astral, but it has good tech rep. Look into planar options as well, such as the Kiwi Ears Aether and the 7Hz x Crinacle Divine, are cheaper than your budget and both excel in the technical side.

Btw I have the crinear daybreak (neutral to me but terrible soundstage), and currently a shipment for the Thieaudio hype 4 from headphones.com.
