The Dita Ventura is indeed ass. I tried them for half a song and took them out immediately. They sound like generic $100 single DDs. Single DDs are ass, they can't reproduce the entire frequency spectrum well. I have not heard one with good treble.

these videos don't really serve a purpose, apart from saying stick with airpods (which most people should do) It's not about money, it's about the individual iem. I also wouldnt be surprised if a single dd summit fi iem is garbage. So your title should be non audiophiles review iems and think the Dita Ventura is trash

Significantly more vocal forward. The Pina Gain region from 1k to 3k is where the vocals really come into play. This curve will push the vocals more forward, and give them some additional emphasis over the mix. So if you like vocals to stand out, the Prelude does a really good job of that. More so than the neutral target sets like the Daybreak or the Hexa, that really follow that JM1 style curve. The one downside of the Prelude, which most people honestly dont even notice, is that the tonality is more V Shaped. You can see that the mids are a little more scooped out than the flat response you get from the Hexa or Daybreak. This mostly doesnt effect musicality too much, as it makes the bass feel a little more progressive, and slightly less muddy, like some people can perceive the Hexa's bass curve as being (which is also why why see the bass shelf of the Daybreak after the flatter mids, to prevent that muddiness). The only other real downside of the Prelude is the Spike at 12.5k. Its there, its noticeable. Its a harmonic artifact of the Single DD design, and how they have extended the treble response on it. It does add a lot of shimmer and harmonics to the playback. But if you are super treble sensitive it can be problematic. Now to throw another curve at you, the "sorta in between one", is the Tangzu Xuan Nv. https://aftersound.squig.link/?share=CRINEAR_DAYBREAK,DITA_PRELUDE,TANGZU_XUAN_NV Its pretty much right in between the two tonally. I think the Prelude and daybreak have a significantly better driver quality, and build quality is vastly superior, but the Xuan Nv is "good enough" detail wise, and comes in a half the price, leaving you room for a high quality DAC under $50.
