iems “What am I missing with IEM’s?”

Hey. I’m a long-time, self-declared audiophile. Except I’ve always been more in the “objective over subjective” camp. Basically, if something is better, someone should be able to prove it. No one proved a DAP was worth it, so I never got one. I’ve been rocking out on a set of Audeze Sines for half a decade, and the only reason I’m here is because they’re falling apart and I literally cannot replace them; they’re out of production, and no one makes something that fits in that ultra-portable, ultra-rugged, ultra-ooooooooh niche…except, I guess IEMs. I just bought a FiiO BTR13. I’ve gone through like 6 sets of IEMs, but othing is giving me that “see ya in a decade” satisfaction (the 7hz Divines get damned close!). I made the smallest change, to see if I could get where I wanted. I got the cheapest thing that offers PEQ, because that lets me fix what I don’t like about what I have. So yeah. Do what makes you happy. Sounds like your IE100 makes you happy, so run with it! If you swap cables, do it for the ergonomics. If you roll tips, believe your ears not the hype…and do it for the ergonomics. Bottom line: if you can’t tell a difference, it is not worth it!

I can for sure attest to the long gaming session comfort of the HD599. Those are the most comfortable headphones i have ever used for long term use. Overall fantastic for general use and sound incredibly natural and are perfectly open and wide enough to sound like the sounds are coming from the room with you, but lack musical flavor. Im honestly surprised to not see the Audeze LCD-X for audiophile music listening since i know that is a popular choice (i own the LCD-2 so i dont know personally how good the LCD-X are). Overall a great list tho and i love seeing these sorts of things that show what is popular here on the subreddit.

iems “Went IEM and I think I’m never going back”

Was using tea pro for 4 months and considered it end game. Now Im already bored with them lmao. Sometimes I prefer bass on galaxy buds 2 or my previous audeze maxwells.

iems “[ Review ] KZ PRX The Power Hungry Planar”

i didn't have PRX but do have PR1 Pro (KZ easiest planar to driver) and PR2 (the infamous one and hardest to driver). yeah, they are power hungry PR2 in particular is harder to drive than some of my headphones. Per Audeze post, you can have enough power to ran a planar to a certain volume, but from there planar will need 30% extra power to move it even faster to deliver all the transient details.
