I was hoping I could just get a portable dac that works with both future headphones and the Reference. I know I’m probably asking for a lot. I’m actually thinking of a DAP makes more sense. Ideally I can spend $500 which is roughly what I can get the Astell&Kern AK HC5 for, give or take. Essentially I’d like something I can buy once that’ll last for at least five years. Wondering if it might be better to just get the M21, although I’d prefer not having multiple devices. So that’s my biggest question now… Invest in a DAC or DAP.
