Hesh ANC

i heard about a type of headphones called planar magnetic headphones, and i heard that they can make music sound more "rhythmic" due to the magnets completing their motions faster. i was wondering if these types of headphones would be dependent on the genre or song to sound good (or at least as good)? i was also wanting to know if yall had any recommendations for any affordable pairs of headphones (preferably earbuds for portability) that may have this feature. i especially think this would sound amazing with songs like H. by tool but im scared it might not be worth the hefty price tag when im currently just using a mini walkman mp3 player and gas station earbuds. skullcandy hesh if portability/discreetness isnt a factor at play. i will say the hesh (the new ones at least) feel kinda too bassy, so having a good balance of bass and treble would be good. especially since the music i listen to is kinda all over the place. alot of it benefits greatly from rly good bass but i still want the treble to be good

I currently have a pair of og wired Quiet Comforts. I like the noise cancellation and sound quality, plus they fold up neatly which is convenient, but they are wired and take an AA battery. I bought a pair of cheap SkullCandy ANC and don't like them. Noise cancellation is not as good as the Bose, the mic is not very good, plus they have a super annoying feature where they don't work while plugged in, so they are unusable if the battery runs out. Right now Sony XM5 is on sale for less than $300 on Amazon, BestBuy has open-box Bose Quiet Comfort Ultras for $250, regular "non-ultra" quiet comforts can be found on sale for about $300, Sennheiser Momentum 4 for $222. Anker Q45 and JBL 770nc are attractive price and have good reviews, but I don't want to waste money if they are going to be similar quality as the SkullCandy ones I already have. Which one has best noise cancelling for airplanes for $300 or less? I am seeing that Sony has best noise cancellation, but also that the xm5s don't fold up and the XM6 are more than I want to spend. I do like how my in-ear air pods automatically switch between devices, very nice for switching between phone for personal stuff and laptop for work, but I'm not paying $500 for the air pod Max headphones. Do other headphones have that feature, or is that an apple ecosystem only feature?

Hi all, so im an Auto Body Technician and im looking for some decent bluetooth noise cancelling headphones to use at work, but at an affordable price. I have a loud, dirty, dusty job and I dont expect the lifespan of these to be very long, hence why I dont want to spend hundreds of dollars. Id like to have good sound quality but hearing protection and ANC is top priority. Ive got a few contenders narrowed down on Amazon - The Skullcandy Hesh or the Sennheiser Accentum. I was also considering some models from Anker (q30, q45) but im kinda turned off by the many poor reviews due to the durability of the plastic. If anyone else has any suggestions in that price range, that would be great. Im feeling a bit overwhelmed by the amount of options. Thanks in advance!

Edit: After looking around online, I realized I could still buy some Skullcandy Hesh headphones close to what I was used to. I bought them, and pairing them with an EQ program, I am finally achieving what I want! My partner says it sounds like I am playing music under a blanket, but hey, I'm happy! I think clarifying what I have tried since then will maybe help me narrow down what I am looking for. Many old headphones I loved that I have gotten rid of are no longer available anywhere, so I'm finding if tough to find another good pair. (One pair I can remember, if anyone else remembers them, was the Skullcandy Hesh 2.0 I believe. Came out somewhere in the 2010s? I loved them!) Reiterating that I am unfamiliar with a lot of the technical jargon! So, I am looking for headphones with INTIMATE sound overall, for ALL the ranges. I find that many headphones I've tried sound "far away" to me, sometimes tinny. I want it to feel DIRECT in my ear. I know most people in the headphone world like an "open soundstage", I apparently want the opposite. I also am looking for emphasis on the bass. I don't want it to RUIN the rest, but I want it thumping! I want closed back over-ear headphones. I am aiming for \~200 USD or less. I have gotten several recommendations for Sennheiser, specifically HD 660s. These are not for me. My partner has the exact pair I keep seeing recommended and they are not hitting what I am describing at all, not to the degree I want anyway. I tried out the Meze 99 classics, they also did not hit the marks for me. My personal tastes may be looked down on or cheap perhaps (this is the biggest budget I have EVER allowed myself for headphones), but I am still very picky about them sounding right for me! So I really want to find something without all the guessing every time I look. Any help is appreciated.

Hey everyone. I’m not sure if this is the right sub to post this, but here it goes: I got these Skullcandy Hesh Anc headphones as a christmas gift, my first headphones ever! I’ve treated them with so much care and handled them very delicately, but lately the leather (?) layer of the padding is coming off the headphone. I have tried to push it back in several times but it does not work and even loosens it even more—now to the point you can see the white and black fillings. How to fix this without spending a fortune taking it somewhere to get fixed or, even worse, having no other choice but to buy another pair?
