“Sennheiser HD620S are the most comfortable closed backs I’ve ever tried”

  • u/Jonners_90 · headphoneadvice · ▲ 1

“I can recommend the HD620S after having just bought them. They handle all frequencies well and have a surprisingly wide soundstage for being a very isolated closed back headphone. They're a little heavy but seal well if you can handle the clamp. Really, really nice pair of headphones.”

headphones “HD 490 Pro Conspiracy Theory”
It's funny how triggered some people are that you referred to it as a 'conspiracy theory.' Some people have a sort of Pavlovian response to that phrase. I think it's an interesting post, and what you call it is irrelevant. We debate and discuss so many minute and sometimes meaningless details about headphones here. It's strange that some people are so dismissive of your diving into this. But again, that word triggers people. That phrase goes back to the Kennedy assassination when it was first popularized, to discredit people skeptical of the official narrative. \--- But back to Sennheiser. The total split of consumer audio vs. professional audio, and being two different companies is something I find very confusing as a consumer. I'm a fan of Sennheiser. Both, I guess? The mixed brand identity makes me uneasy, though. On a side note, I believe the HD620s is a highly underrated headphone.

    headphoneadvice “Alternatives to the HD650s.”
The current trending answer to that question is the Heddphone D1. But if you can it’s better to demo a whole bunch to see if there exist a different sound signature that you like better. I find that I prefer the HD620S to HD650 in its stock form without any mods.

headphoneadvice “looking for closed back headphones for music and gaming under 300”
Fiio FT1 or sennheiser HD 620S FT1s are more V-shaped with good bass but you might wanna check if its to peaky for you, for me personally no but we are all different 620s are much more reference and reviewers say they are "boxy" sounding, havent tested myself but it seems like the next best closed back in your price range. Edit\*: if you go with the FT1s since they are half of your price range get a capra strap, it makes it so much more comfortable and you can order it off of amazon, simple install and it gets rid of the pressure points also the 620S are reported to have a higher clamping force then average, if you aren't used to stuff like that then just be wary if you go with them.
