“Yea wtf. Astro A50 are the biggest pieces of shit ever made. Whilst I was looking for a fix for the very common A50 charging issue, I saw a comment from someone on the Astro subreddit saying "Time to move on, man. Astro's are garbage." I thought "Yea, you're right, enough is enough". That's how I found this post.”

headphoneadvice “need help for first audiophile headphones (right now Sennheiser HD 490 Pro)”

Hi i am in need of the beehive knowledge! would really appreciate it if you could help me out with your wisdom \- after all these years of gaming i want to push through and invest in a "audiophile" headset and get that experience, right now testing Sennheiser HD 490 Pro but unsure about it. i always used to have these gaming headsets, my earlier ones were the logitech g pro x which i really liked, but when they broke, i reordered wireless and wired and both sounded ass so they changed the quality, however my solid one for years were the Astro A40 with mixamp, which comfort wise are a 100/10 but obviously the sound is not the greatest. now i bought the Sennheiser HD 490 Pro in combination with the FIIO K11 Amp. right now using the mixing earpads. all in all really solid, and im aware that it is definetely a switch from a gaming headset to a studio headpone and it can feel very neutral. which it actually does for me. ive experimented with EQ by now, right now using the EQ by Super\* Reviews (picture) which fits the best for me as of now and is enjoyable, also tested oratorys1990's EQ which seems to be like the goat to go from, but didnt like it at all. Sound Quality is really decent but im, definetely, missing the click moment when listening to music, even with my favorite tracks, the enjoyment and this "holy shit lets go" moment is not quite there, even tough i listen to the hardest bangers. i plan to use it to play tactical fps games like CS2, and of course listening to music - emo rap(beaty), some pop direction, right now listening much to EDM, trying to find my taste but i definetely like DnB. as of rn Techno, some UK Speed Garage, house, stutter house sort of - big fan of Fred Again, also listening to Illenium for years for example. when listening to music i tend to focus and enjoy vocals, beat and the vibe both together create, in both ways positive or negative emotion and thats also what gives me enjoyment in listening to music so me as someone who has no clue, would think a warm sounding headphone with strenghts in mids and highs + bass since i listen to alot of Beat/EDM type music would be right for me... also since i tend to enjoy the big picture of songs, like not listening to details really, i would assume a studio headphone like the HD 490 Pro is too neutral and not the way to go for me? \- comfort is actually a number 1 priority for me and goes above sound all the way, right now with the HD 490 Pro its great. ive had the MMX300 years years back and for me as someone wearing glasses its a no go comfort wise, hurts and sweating \- i get fatigued quite easily from audio it seems, regarding listening to people. i have problems with finding the right volume in which i can understand well enough and not get fatigued if that makes sense if you did read all that i appreciate you very much, and hopefully i can get some input, suggestions, help, thank you.

headphoneadvice “HD 600 replacement, need something punchier”

Budget $500 usd online. I do not like how the hd600s are so neutral they do not feel alive at all. I tried them to replace my Astro A50 wireless headset, the hd600 has more clarity which helps a lot for violin, but it feels muted and dead for everything else. I wish I could combine these headphones. I am using an elgato wave xlr mk2 for the amp it has 250 ohms. What do you think would be a good fit? I am not looking for the craziest bass ever, but the bass on my Astro A50s was great.

headphoneadvice “PS5 Gaming Headphone recommendations”

Looking for a new set of gaming headphones. I use them only on my ps5. Must have simultaneous Bluetooth. Be wireless and have decent battery life. I have just returned my rubbish pair of A50X. Have tested a pair of nova elite and found them uncomfortable as hell and the mic to be horrendous. Leaning towards HyperX Cloud Alpha 2 Wireless or the Razer Blackshark V3 Pro. Would like any thoughts or recommendations. Budget up to around $500-$600 nzd which is $300-$350 usd. Cheers

headphoneadvice “Searching for a multi system wireless headset”

As the title says I am in the market for a wireless headset which supports switching between systems. I use my headphones for work and gaming and constantly switch between my work laptop and my PC. Currently I am running the **Arctis Nova Pro Wired** and I am pretty happy with them. However when I need to do some stuff around the house while in a meeting/call on discord, I am obviously restricted with this headset. Also before the suggestions come I would like to clarify that **keeping the mic on the headset is a must for me** since I will need to talk from distance sometimes… The headsets I stumbled on were: \- (*The obvious one*) **Arctis Nova Pro Wireless:** The problem I have with these is that the mic sounds terrible which is common for a wireless headset but this doesn’t cut it for me. On the other hand it has every feature that the wired version has plus more. Swappable battery also seems like a nice addition. \- **Arctis Nova Elite**: Solves the problem with the mic on the Pro’s (mostly) however I don’t think that alone and some other minor improvements justify the insane asking price. Would consider it only if this remains as my last option. \- **Astro A50 5th Gen**: Don’t know much about them just that this is one of the better mic’s on a wireless headset and that it has multi system support. Other than that I have no idea what other options remain. If you guys have any suggestions or experience with any of the headsets please feel free to comment. Thanks in advance! Edit: Budget is not a problem. UPDATE: I decided to go with the Arctis Nova Elite’s. Found them on Ebay for the “low” price of 450$. I am still happy though because they are sealed. Will update with my thoughts on them when get they arrive.

headphones “Arctis Nova Elite - My thoughts so far”

Idk - I bought these for a laugh - was at microcenter and was going to be in the area in 3 days so thought I would test them out and return them. I have Grado, Sennheisers, Bose ultras (and a few other models), BW PX8, and Astro A50s for gaming. Well, f\* because the Elites sound amazing and now I'm really struggling to return them and hold on to my $600. Can't speak to the mic yet - but man the sound is really top notch. I am amazed that this is gaming centric headset with such incredible balance - but also warmth.
