“Get a handheld. Laptop is not a portable option. A steam deck is my recommendation but if you don’t mind spending twice the amount other options are good too. Just avoid the white Rog Xbox Ally(not the black Xbox X Ally, that one is good).”

neutralogally “Is Rog Ally z1e still good for latest games?”Should I get a Rog Ally Z1 E? I've been planning to get a used Rog Ally Z1 extreme for 29k inr (~$322) in India. It seemed less used and has 3 months warranty remaining too. I haven't used any handhelds for pc gaming before. I went to a rog store to look at a laptop and tried out Rog Xbox Ally (not X) model and I wasn't impressed. I was only able to try out a forza game (not sure which one) that they had installed and it seemed laggy. I don't know the exact fps count but even after the sales guy changed a few settings it seemed less than 30 fps. Sales guy also said the Z1 extreme performs better than xbox ally, but I'm not very much convinced as I haven't seen one before. The games I'm planning to play on z1e are witcher 3, black ops 7, Hogwarts legacy etc. Will those be laggy as well on z1e?

neutralhandhelds “Which handheld to get??”If you want bang for your buck, I’d go for a used ROG Ally X (the Z1E variant, not the Xbox Ally X). If you want OLED/best screen I’d go for the Legion Go 2 (maybe also used?). However DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT get the Xbox All (non-X)! It’s basically just a repackaged SteamDeck chip and the device itself is worse than a (non-Xbox) Ally X in all but ergonomics. EDIT: Corrected the Legion Go S not having an OLED screen.

That's exactly what I did, MSI Claw 8AI+ and haven't looked back. People recommending keeping PC and streaming dont get when you become a dad, you need things to just work, anywhere. And you need to reliably get short 15 to 30 minute game sessions wherever you are at home or running errands. Not to mention a remote PC won't have the same usability of a console even with steam big picture mode. Xbox Ally X should be perfect. I skipped it since its got a tiny ass dull screen for me, but if you're becoming a dad, an Ally might be better as it just works and tweaking is more fun and reliable due to AMD chip and Steam OS support. Xbox Ally X is a really good jack of all trades master of none that doesn't really do anything very well. Claw 8AI+ has unmatched hardware but software is kind of limited (95% of games work, ignore Intel doomposters parroting around dumb outdated things. Msi launcher is just terrible)
