buyitforlife “What's the best no-frills coffee maker?”

Top quality? Pour over (hario v60 is what I currently use daily it’s really pretty teal ceramic) with a barazza bean grinder for grinding fresh every time. For making larger amounts French press. No electronics. Very easy to use- hot water, grounds, steep for four minutes, press. Nowhere coffee club has one without any plastic, although I haven’t used it myself. They show a car parked on it so looks really durable.

Hey fellow coffee lover I think it’s time for us to make a good list for a cheap and affordable list of equipment which are not dropshipped crap( AGARO and team) and which is also gonna be useful for the rest of their coffee journey For me I think an affordable way to get into this world **Pourover** Hario v60 coffee drippers and filter papers are easy to maintain and very affordable (500-700) Get a gooseneck stovetop coffee(700) a thermometer (300-600) A good scale(900-100) for beginners And that would be a great start and will last till you get into advance stuff for sure **Problems** A grinders which is attainable, affordable and not crap(AGARO)would cost you around 6-10k for the handheld ones so it’s a significant investment here I wish there are more coffee snobs like me who know a work around I would love to have a good discussion about them and also would love to extent this list with more equipment’s in future :)

Get a pour over or two... the V60 by HARIO is perfection, under $20 even for a nice one.Pour Over Coffee Maker Set – V60 Drip Coffee Pot with Walnut Handle, Glass Coffee Dripper & 100 Filters, 20oz/600ml Capacity Invest in a gooseneck electric kettle. Get a simple scale, for example "BAGAIL BASICS Coffee Scale with Timer, 0.1g High Precision Kitchen Scale". Pick one, they are almost all the same. Start there. If you like "drip" coffee you will love pour over. Grinder? Do you have a grinder? Pour over is more fine than drip, less than espresso.

I started out with an AP and it makes great coffee and is very forgiving. It would be a good starter brewer just to try out and see if you like specialty coffee. It won’t break the bank and you wouldn’t need an expensive grinder to get going. That being said, I always recommend the Hario Switch as a good first brewer. It is so versatile giving you multiple ways to brew, but can be very straight forward with immersion only. I have the 03 and use it daily. Can’t go wrong either way… good luck!
